They're Beast Wars Ultras, not Cybertron. They're a bit smaller than the modern Ultras, and could pretty easily be sold for $40 together without all the fancy extras Takara puts in.

Besides, it's too expensive for the two new deluxe figures... surely...

Just a wild guess here, but given the pricepoint and the 'TRA' in the item description...could it be a rerelease of Transmetal Optimus and Megatron?

$39.99 would be about right for two BW Megas with a few extras tossed in, I think.

Like an extra Primal and Megatron? They're deluxe size.
2 x $9.99(14.99) is a lot less than $39.99

I don't care if it's the originals, or Transmetals, I don't have either.
I'd take the Robotmasters versions as well, I only have the black repaints, which I got for Christmas.

Okay, now I'm kinda lost.

The upgraded Primal and Megatron (with the more technomechanical beast modes), were those meant to come state side?

I always had the impression that Japan was going to get the show-realistic originals and we were getting the new upgraded versions.

Nice to see they're releasing the show-realistic ones even if it's just through TRU, though.

They recently popped up at US retail. They will be available at all the mass retailers still willing to carry them after the first two waves barely sold. Meanwhile, the versus set with the show-accurate remolds will be exclusively available from TRU.

The Beast Wars reissues didn't shift? That's a shame, though I suppose hardly suprising considering the slow death of the G1 reissues.
