3H Productions, Inc. today announced that as part of their celebration of the 20th anniversary of the TRANSFORMERS brand, four new comic book issues will be available for purchase at the Official Transformers Collectors’ Convention, July 31-Aug 1 in Rosemont, IL: the “director’s cut” edition of TRANSFORMERS: THE WRECKERS #2, a super sized 64-page volume featuring enhanced artwork and special bonus material not found in the original edition, and three all new adventures: TRANSFORMERS: THE WRECKERS #3, and TRANSFORMERS: UNIVERSE #2 and #3. See below for individual issue descriptions and preview images. Pre-orders for these issues may be picked up in person at the convention, or else will be shipped out after the convention. New orders for these issues may be placed in the Store.

TRANSFORMERS: THE WRECKERS # 2 (THE DIRECTOR'S CUT)

Written by Rob Gerbracht and Simon Furman (PRIMEVAL DAWN). Pencils by Dan Khanna. Inks by Chuck Gibson, Terry Pallot and Hi-Fi Design. Colors by Hi-Fi Design.

PRIMAL PRIME and his team are on a galaxy spanning mission at the behest of the Oracle. A team shattering betrayal is revealed as the WRECKERS discover a pair of long forgotten AUTOBOTS guarding a key to unimaginable power! After this issue, things will never be the same! Reinked and recolored with a brand new 4-page prologue, the Director's Cut reintroduces fans to this epic storyline. Also included is a collection of Character Profiles from the mini-series. It most likely appears that they're heading down the route of the second option.

That was the part that piqued my interest. So it's in IL again next year?

Oh. Well, methinks they planned to put it up before the convention, forgot, and have only now realized it. What's even more confusing is the fact that I've seen the previews for the Universe issues up there for quite a while. Weren't they supposed to be out shortly after the first one came out last year?

as of present, there has been NO announcement as to next year's location.
