86 made you sad when ATOUBOTS died and great hand-dran animation.
07 had amazing CGI.

1986 was a slightly more edgy toy advert than the cartoons that spawned it.

2007 has all the added depth and sophistication of a wino jacking off into a baby stroller.

Both have enjoyable music, though.

2007 wins on all points.

The 1986 cartoon is overrated on all points. I kinda dislike it <shocker>.

The 2007 movie is in my top20 movies of all times.

The 1986 film has a great opening and first 20 minutes, and the poodle-rock soundtrack is great fun.

One thing that always got me though; who was the poor sod or sods who had to paint the endless shadows flitting across the robots in every scene?

The 2007 film succeeds in nailing the sheer awsomeness of Optimus Prime twenty-one years later!

I'd say the 2007 film is much more enjoyable for me, as I just felt the 86 film took the franchise in an odd direction.
