Denton Tipton blog updates | UPDATE: September release schedule

Post by zigzagger »

May as well start one these - an all purpose Denton Tipton blog updates thread. I'll merge the other related threads if it seems necessary to the rest of you :)

At any rate, Tipton recently updated his blog with an estimated shipping schedule for October Transformers releases (on the right side of the page).
http://fromthetip.blogspot.com/
Transformers Releases

Estimated in-store dates:

October 1

Best of UK: Time Wars #3
More Than Meets the Eye Vol 1. TPB

October 8
Spotlight Sideswipe
Animated: The Arrival #3
Best of UK: Space Pirates TPB
Art of Transformers TPB

Animated Series Vol. 5 TPB
Pity about Sideswipe, but I'll manage. It isn't too long of a wait.

Denton Tipton updates his blog with an estimated release schedule for late-October and November
October 29
Armada Vol. 1 TPB

November 5
Spotlight: Blurr
Best of UK: Time Wars #4

November 12
Animated: The Arrival #4
Megatron Origins TPB (2nd printing)

November 19
Spotlight: Optimus Prime 3-D
Reign of Starscream TPB
Animated Vol. 1 (3rd printing)
Animated Vol. 3 (2nd printing)
Animated Vol. 5 (2nd printing)
Blurr is coming out sooner than I thought. Though, the month of November seems awfully light so far, with mostly reprints - but again, this is an "estimate". AHM isn't up there yet (which has been fairly consistent), but of course, this isn't for the entire month of November :o. Pity about Maximum Dinobots though.

Oh well. I'll be patient.

Who'd have thought Megs Origin would warrant a second printing? Anyone got a list of which trades have had second printings and which haven't? Was wondering given the seeming lack of some trades out there. Strange Megs gets a second printing and Escalation hasn't (or has it?).

Megatron Origin got a second printing?

Somehow I imagined Infiltration/Stormbringer or War Within (if legal issues can do so) would've raked in more money...

Don Figueroa to Return to TF Comics

Post by zigzagger »

In his latest entry, Tipton reveals that Don Figueroa will return to Transformers comics for art duties in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Movie Prequel: Defiance #3. Includes image of line-art cover.

From the Tip
I recently hinted at the return of one of the great TF artists on the IDW Forum, and posters were quick and accurate with their guess. The Don's back, baby!

Mr. Figueroa's return will be found in Movie Prequel: Defiance #3, due out in March. In the meantime, Defiance #1 hits stands January 21, brought to you by the creative team of Chris Mowry, Dan Khanna, Andrew Griffith and Josh Perez!

Nice to see Stormbringer on a fourth printing. It's easily the best story that IDW (or DW) have run. Great art too.

Good to see Don forged that successful career away from TFs that he was so keen on.

I thought he was doing Ultimate X-Men with McDonough and Patyk?

I guess it's difficult to get off a Transformers books when your strength is giant transforming robots and your weaknesses are things like Everything Else.

Yaaay so the guy that swore to god never again to draw a TF comic...then illustrated the Shattered Glass comic...has come back? Oh the shock!
Few stuff in the UK to trade/sell. Measly sales thread.

Yeah but so far it's only for one issue. Hardly a return. We'll have to see if he gets lined up for anything more.

On Cliffy's point Don's doing yet more robots in the Terminator Salvation adaptation coming over the summer.

So now AHM and Defiance are both running a month late. Hope this doesn't continue.

You sure? AHM is off maybe by a week or two (#6 came out 12/31 or thereabouts due to New Years, and #7 comes out this week, 2/4).

AHM #7 was solicited for January, so it's off by a month or a week depending on how you look at it. Defiance #1 was out in January so #2 should be in February, but the date says early march. So there're both running a little late.
