He gets buried underneath an iceberg, rather than killed as such.

More specifically, the Headmasters hold hands and blast him with the "Head-Formation of Friendship".

Not one of the show's better moments. Galvatron doesn't come back until the Battlestars manga, when Dark Nova frees him from the iceburg and upgrades him into Super Megatron.

There is, in fairness, a pretty big explosion to go along with all of that. ^^;

But he comes back in Battlestars, too!

He gets to be Star Convoy's pancreas.

And who wouldn't want to be Star Convoy's pancreas, after all?

Galvy doesn't die - he vanishes. Hence the title of the episode. If he'd died, it would have been called "Galvatron dies!" or somesuch. Much like The Death of Ultra Magnus, The Return of Optimus Prime, or The Girl Who Loved Powerglide.

TF titles have never been much for subtlety, have they?

I dunno, A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court leaves plenty to the imagination.

ANYTHING could happen!

Can you imagine if online fandom existed in 1987, and you had to spoiler tag "The Death of Ultra Magnus"?

I still prefer those titles over the one word ones from Armada/Energon/Cybertron, like: "Sand", "Ice", "Space", "Ship", "Cramp", "Fight", and so on.

He doesn't vanish, the other Dece... Destrons know exactly where he is (under some ice), they just can't be arsed to dig him out.

Genius thread by the way.

That probably has something to do with him telling Sixshot he plans to disect the most powerful Decepticons in his ranks and use their parts to construct a gigantic Marlon Brando.

Not one of his better ideas.

Aye, but Starscream did the same basic thing for millions of years, and nobody got round to killing him for ages.

On the contary, that is the best idea in the history of everything...

Incidently, is the charecterisation of Cyclonus and Scourge as Hale and Pace consistant with how they are in the dub of 2010?

Nah, in 2010 they act exactly as they do in season 3. Cyclonus has an exceptionally deep and ruthless voice, too. I'm not sure why they turned into bumbling morons in Headmasters (other than to get kids to hate the toys they already have and crave the new ones)

Headmasters was just a big mess.

Sounds like someone needs a head formation of friendship...

Then again, Cyclonus has serious personality problems in Rebirth as well- "So long suckers!" indeed. And they did have a toy to sell.

Galvatron faked his own demise, he saw the madness of his ways and took off to do what he always wanted - create a puppy farm.

So that's two Galvatrons of different series who died at the hands of a headmaster in ice! he has a weakness...
