I don't know if it is crappy or not, but yes it is.

Ramjet looks pretty cool, not so much with the saber.

Yeah, Ramjet's nice. Thrust looks like he would fit, but Sunstorm sticks out like a sore thumb when in saber mode. Wonder how it would have looked with Dirge colors. Possibly just as bad, depending on the shade of blue, I suppose. Wonder if they lost that name.

I thought that after the first 6 sets, they were going to start using new molds . . .

Hmmm . . . anyway, maybe they'll make two-packs, using the minicons that came with Giant Planet tfs. I'd like to get them, but I don't necessarily want to get the Giant Planet TFs, as I'm starting to shy away from big tfs. Maybe Takara/Tomy'll do what they did with Roots in Galaxy Force, and have another company release them in single packs with gum.

Note that Anti-Blaze (Firebot) and Scythe (Makeshift) are missing the retooled handles from the Hellflame Microns.

So, here's a question, and maybe it's just that I'm stupid, but why of this green earth would you give uniform color schemes to the emergency team, but not to the Star Saber team? Well, it's really only sunstorm, who sticks out like a sore thumb, but still, they combine, the emergency minicons don't. Silly painters. I like the colors on Ramjet and Thrust. I'll probably just go for Thrust, though, since I don't like Ramjet's mold.

were there rumors about retooled Emergency Minicons for the US?

if yes, the first pics we saw from the Armada beast remolds all lacked minicon ports (even the pictures on the final packaging), so it's still unsure if they'll be remolded after all

Keep in mind the Air Military redecos from the versus packs we saw at SDCC originally had the retooled handles from the Caliber Microns, but the actual toys didn't. It's being speculated that with the handle retools being a feature done for store exclusives, Hasbro aren't allowed to use them.

while I do understand Takara not wanting the same/similar recolors I don't see why that tiny remolded part shouldn't be used on a non-exclusive, as the colors are completely different

The retool was done with the intention to sell it as an exclusive.

I don't know how exactly the restrictions from Takara work, though.
