Rules in this are pretty simple: No FLAMING each other! Post your thoughts, observations, whatever you want within reason and within board rules.

Proceed!

Is it correct that most phone polls in the US are conducted via landlines only?

Polls aren't allowed to call cell phone users because it might cost users money in phone use. So basically, I think there is a small 5% or so of users not included in any polls. Also not included are newly registered voters.

Zogby recently conducted a text message cell phone poll and found those who responded favored Kerry 55% to 40%. Somewhat comforting.

Well, if Kerry loses, it's his own damned fault. If I had his kind of money, I could have beaten Bush. Anybody could have actually, provided they showed a bit of spine and cornered Bush on just how many screw-ups he's made, plus how much difficulty he has in acknowledging he's made any mistakes.

Two words: west coast.

The problem is that the election coverage is so far showing everything the polls have already shown - this is about the swing states. Hopefully some of the eastern ones will start panning out soon.

Anyhow, remember Dewey vs. Truman, 1948? You never know until it's over.
