Yeah, these forums are cool.

I started a thread on another Transformers board about how I didn't like any of the Transformers shows since Beast Machines ended, and hoped that Heroes would be better since it is being written by North Americans and all of a sudden I'm being slammed for being prejudice against Japanese animation.

I mean, I did say that I thought it was the Japanese influence on the newer shows that made them bad. To me, they are too much in the vein of Pokemon etc. But I'm not prejudiced against anime. I have shelves full of the stuff on DVD. I just didn't think that it was serving the Transformers very well. To me, the last time I liked Transformers was when it was being made 100% in the US or Canada.

And I've watched at least 10 episodes of every show that's come out. I just didn't like them. Does that make me prejudiced against anime? I don't think so. And I never once said that just because a new show was going to be made back in NA again, that it was automatically going to be GREAt! I may not like it, either. I just said I had more hope that this one may be better then the previous shows.

I don't know. People just seem more open-minded and intelligent on these boards, so I think I'll stick to this board form now on.

Give it time, (s)he may be a happy addition.

We tend to scare away the close minded I think. That or antagonize them until they do something to get themselves banned.

Either way... :eyebrow:

Been here for 4 years - and it hasn't happened yet ;)

But really, of all the sites I visit on the net, the Archive is still my favourite. Really is the nicest group of people out there (take that as you will).

Transformers was always Japanese (I believe) and the storyline is translated to North American standards. I don't know how you can dislike something thats made in Japan but like it when its drawn/animated here.

Cloudy, you need to stop by some of the series forums. ;)

Transformers was Hasbro's first. The toy's were (initially) based off of the Japanese Diaclone and Microman (microchange?) lines.

Started in North am
Went to Japan (and continued, while it sank in North Am)

Started again in North Am (Beast Era)
Went to japan (and did the wierd pause thing)

Started in Japan (Car Robots)
Went to North Am (RID)

Was a joint venture of both North Am and Japan (Armada-verse, Binal Tech\Alt)

And now have gone their seperate ways again:
North Am is doing Classics and gearing up for the Movie

Japan is doing Kiss Players and... I assume gearing for the movie too as we've seen Japanese movie posters and what not.

Nope, the majority of toys were made in Japan. Transformers with a capital T and a little TM after it (i.e. what makes Transformers Transformers, as opposed to Gundam Wing) is an American invention.

I am sexually aroused by these forums.

Mind, it doesn't take much nowdays. I was even finding Soolin a bit of allright when watching the last Blake's 7 boxset recently...

Well, I've been turned off a bit by football actually being fictional. It seems we've managed to sign Vincenzo Montella, who's averaging something like 6 goals per game at the moment. Now, that's blatantly not real.

I like the forums because we don't let people have two megabytes worth of images load up every time they post.

Also, the people... but mostly that image thing :o

Welcome to the board. If you like BW/BM, you might want to check IDW's current comics? :)

This board also has a lot of (more or less) active members from various countries, which is a big part of the appeal for me. Wouldn't hurt to get more active members from Japan and/or Asia though.

but how can you not like us?

we are great, really.

go to the junkion files and see how nuts this site was, and how it's so .. tame now. or lame now.

it is a fun place, to be fair. put an opinion out there and you won't be damned for an idiot, but rather snidely criticized for being naive.

you can overcome naivette, but not stupidity.

still working on that.

That's the spirit lad! Speaking of spirit and according to Gnosis, the spiritual plane is highest place where one's consciousness can go. Odinary out of body experiences occur in the Astral plane, several planes down. Pie me (number or cream)!
