Here's another thing to consider:

I asked a few people in Japan, including Fan to Fan, and they all told me the same thing.

Takara NEVER solicited Ginrai and Black Convoy to stores in Japan to begin with. The only information we ever got came from online import stores.

And of course, we've seen all the March releases in Japanese magazines, but no sign of Ginrai or Black Convoy...

Basically what Nevermore said, with a few personal reasons added. Ever since the concept of Alternators was developed, I've been pining for a pickup truck to be released, and when I got wind of it, I was excited until I heard it was going to be Prime.

I have enough Primes to hold me over until judgement day, so I would rather it be someone else, and if not for Takara's insistance on it being Prime, it would have been.

In a way, it would be like lending $5 and never paying it back. Yeah, it's a negligible amount (Hasbro will still sell a bunch of them, as prime's no slouch for sales), but the borrowing party may not get another loan (the next time Takara insists on something, Hasbro might just say "Screw you. You probably won't release it, anyway").

That being said, if they release a Black Convoy, I'll probably get that version, in spite of the extra cost. My primes outnumber my evil primes 2 to 1, and while they're badass enough to take on two each, I'd take one of them over tf's answer to superman (with respect to his straightedged stance on life, though his ability to turn the tide, just by his presence does somewhat reflect Supe's strength) anyday.
