Insert your own "Hey, remember that **** moderator?" joke...

Hey, no worries, it's only about four words shorter than the whole article... Having been unable to find any actual pages covering the line on the internet, I thought I'd make one. Obviously this meant actual research material was at a slight premium. I almost had to resort to using the combination lock story (being a ****, first thing I did on getting Armor Lock was to muck up the combination without even looking at it first, leading to half an hour of FUN brute-force searching) to pad it out.
Well, I've read the whole thing now.
The whole unlocking them thing is a fun gimmick, I must say. I was going to comment on how the orange chap's lock mode isn't that great, but really that doesn't matter all that much. Lovin' the key swords. I like things that are just good, silly fun -- I mean, who's going to display them in lock mode? A sick bastard, that's who.

They're one of those rare-but-not-pricey dealies - because the line's so low profile they don't come up too often, but when they do no-one's really interested... The stuff only seems to come up shipped from Hong Kong or Singapore, indicating it didn't get far beyond Asia. Mind, the ones I got (which were from the UK) only cost me £2 (say, $4), so it's worth keeping an eye out.
Takara did some lockbots too for Microchange - these got a wider Western release (especially in Italy, where I think GiG put them out as part of Trasformer [sic]), but I've got no idea how good they are.

Looks like these things did come out in America after all. Chuffed with that, new toys on the way and I've learnt something

That'd be him, yeh. You need the combination for the lock of that guy? Only need the mainly-white sixth one now.
Huge variance between sizes, and they're actually rather tricky for something of this sort... the instructions on the back of the cards only shown robot > lock, and then not always clearly, and the other way back isn't particularly simple. Had a rather flushed moment when it looked like I'd permanently locked Dial Lock (gold) in his padlock form...
