quick question about Marvel UK

Post by Prowl1984 »

ok, I'm just about to read "End of the Road" and thus end my journey through the weird and wonderful Marvel U.S run. My next step is obviously to start on Marvel UK but are there any collections out there that start from issue 1? Earliest starting point i can find is "Dinobot Hunt" but that starts at issue 45.

Yes and no, I guess?

UK #1 is actually first half of US #1, so that's collected in first trade with US material.

As for UK-only stories, I believe the Dinobot Hunt is the earliest one that can be found in Titan/IDW TPBs. Unless Wrath Of Guardian/Grimlock from #31-32 were collected somewhere.

Did you check the comic book section on the site? All the info seems to be there.
-Okay, the bomb's dropped. Life goes on. No amount of sulking or worrying changes that. We've got our own lives to live. In that regard, in five minutes time, I am using the autopilot on the Midnight Runner and taking it down the pub. If I go on my own, I go on my own.
-Well. Wait up, you horrible English git. While I'm around, you don't have to go anywhere on your own.
And, one by one, the others follow.
And, one by one, they begin to smile.

yeah i did have a quick snoops and saw that Dinobot hunt referenced Swoop getting nabbed by some random guy so i was just wondering if anything prior to Dinobot hunt was available in TPB.

It is now.

Presenting 'BEST OF GRIMLOCK' from IDW, the first time ever that Wrath of Guardian/Grimlock has ever been collected in trade paperback form!

Carefully packaged with a load of stuff you'll already have from elsewhere because IDW are cash-grabbing cocksuckers.

is a much better alternative for three reasons:

1) Cheaper
2) Awesome Geoff Senior cover
3) No money from buying it will go to IDW.

ahhh good stuff! As long as i get the background info for Dinobot hunt i should be ok as everything else seems to flow from the previous TPB or the movie.

Unless the person selling it puts the cash towards buying the Best of Grimlock.

So at this stage it's just Raiders, Crisis of Command, Christmas Breaker, To A Power Unknown and Regan Vs. The Insecticons that haven't been reprinted in the modern era in some form or another then?

...and Decepticon Dambusters (which leads into The Wrath Of Guardian/ Wrath Of Grimlock).

I hoovered up all the early Marvel UK Collected Comics # 3 - 8 to pick up the stuff Titan couldn't be bothered with. The hardback Annuals from '85 and '86 are easy enough to come by for the rest, which just leaves 'Raiders...' for me which I've not got.

I still need that last Annual though. It tasks me! It tasks me.
