USA Today interview with IDW editor Andy Schmidt

"The first new Transformers comic book series in five years"?

Also, "There are lines of dialogue that hearken back to older Transformers appearances, like the animated movie, for example."

Is anyone else awfully reminded of War and Peace?

Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

Hopefully it won't be War and Peace.

Although I do have to remember that it is a puff piece, it's not filling me with much hope. We've been doing fine without Unicron.
As a professional tanuki (I'm a Japanese mythological animal, and a good luck charm), I have an alarm clock built into me somewhere. I also look like a stuffed animal. And you thought your life was tough......

For once we can put the mistakes at the door of USA Today rather than IDW themselves. Gotta love them trying to make the story so far book sound like an amazing mythology and saying using random movie quotes is a good thing. I still function indeed.

There's a difference between "lines that hearken back to previous stuff" and "recycling old scripts."

Animated Swindle saying "A little something I picked up in an arms deal with The Vok of Nexus Zero. Nice creatures, The Vok" is an example of how to do the former without resorting to the latter.

Of course I think we all know what Mr Schmidt means. TF:TM still functions.

Wow . . . that was an interview by people who neither know nor care about transformers, for people who neither know nor care about Transformers.
