Movie Sequel story supposed to be "going out" within 30 days

Post by Nevermore »

http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/826/826032p1.html

For those who paid attention in the last couple of days, a weird PDF file popped up that was allegedly a plot outline for the second movie. This presumed leak sent Don Murphy into an outrage, claiming that the treatment was a hoax, but could have gotten him into trouble if it was real. Later, Nelson, Michael Bay's loyal lackey, refuted Don's claims by stating that the treatment was not a fanfic.

Fan reaction to the story was overwhelmingly positive, surprisingly.

And no, I won't post a link.

It's very ambitious if real.

Some bullet points from hellnback at eBaum's World:
SPOILER! (select to read)
various things in the script to watch out for....****possible spoilers****
some of this stuff makes more sense when you read the script treatment.

Starscream's Protoform

Starscream becomes King

Soundwave in his protoform

Soundwave & his faction of Decepticons are loyal only to Megatron

Starscream & his faction of Decepticons are loyal only to him; they all stay in their protoforms

Decepticon Ship Nemesis

Nemesis transforms into a U.S. Aircraft Carrier

Soundwave & his faction transform into Military Vehicles; Soundwave scans & transforms into a prototype for a large, military-grade focused sound laser

Soundwave can bring Transformers back to life

Megatron is dependent on Soundwave to stay alive after he is brought back

Hot Rod comes to Earth; Hot Rod becomes Mikaela's Protector

Agent Simmons is enlisted by the Autobots to help them

The Matrix of Leadership

Constructicons & Devestator

Ultra Magnus & he carries other Autobots while all in vehicle mode

Autobots & U.S. Military make a defense perimeter at the Luxor in Las Vegas; Prime oversees everyone

Military Sabot rounds have no effect whatsoever this time round

Skorponok returns

Stratosphere is blown up

Megatron & Starscream fight each other in one on one combat

SPOILER! (select to read)
Why is Prime continually getting his ass kicked? Isn't he supposed to be the strongest Autobot, yet he has trouble beating anything. You'd think after all this war he'd actually... you know only be matched by Megatron.

I liked it a lot, and I'm convinced it's real. Can't wait to see it on the big screen.

I agree. They should rewrite that part.

Maybe Meggy can trick Prime so he can swipe the Matrix and return to normal.

Can't be real. Too robot-centric.

If it is real then I'm all for it. Seems like Starscream fits more with his Armada character than G1 though, which is great. I'm not entirely buying it all at this point though, the budget would be sickening if this gets greenlighted as is. But hey, I'm hoping this does turn out to be the next movie, it would be a great improvement in characterization it seems.

Okay. Apparently it's both real and fake.

"Real" as in "it wasn't a fanfic".

"Fake" as in "it won't be used".

Makes sense. And should be fine to link, then.

I'd hope to see something equally ambitious (i.e. a two-part sequel making the movies a real trilogy rather than just three stories) be decided for use.

So long as they're both [fairly] complete stories in themselves. Because we know how well attempting to copy Empire worked for Pirates. And the less said about The Matrix the better...

In my opinion there was only two good Matrix movies. The Matrix, and the Animatrix. In my opinion there was only one good Pirates movie. The First.

There has rarely been a good two-part sequel. EsB/RotJ and Spiderman2/3 were examples of such. (2/3 included due to the Goblin Ending of 2)

There are many words I'd use to describe Spidey 3. I'm not sure "good" would be amongst them.

But yes, that's the sort of arcing structure I'd be after.

Now Don Murphy claims AGAIN it's fake and Nelson is full of it. :eyebrow:

EDIT: And the Tom DeSanto treatment for the first movie he talks about is HORRIBLE. No wonder Michael Bay hated it.
