Reissue Tracks, Classics Optimus Prime and Megatron in European packaging

Post by Nevermore »

Well, judging from the Prowl and Inferno reissues, Tracks should be UK-only, seeing as the packaging is English only (but different from the US packaging).

New: Skywarp.

i took a look at the us re-issue tracks box i have, and the differences are very minor.

apparently in UK you can give tracks to a 3 year old, but in the litigious USA we can only give it to a five year old.

Also missing is the label saying " Caution, this TOY is a killing machine and if you play with said TOY you could die or worse."

and the "commemorative series v" label has been removed.

Does the UK get the working missles?

That would require Hasbro to alter the toy itself for another market. Which would cost money.

There is no such thing as a "European release date". The release date is when the toy shows up in stores.

Don't you just love Hasbro UK? The sheer fact that they care not a jot about us over in Europe warms the heart.

Is there an official release date for the US yet or is it still November sometime? As I said I'm gonna be there for a holiday and think i'll be there the first week of November. What are the odds that they'll be out for that week?

If hasbro can release more reissues in the UK, why wont they reissue any new ones in the us?... there are way more Takara releases that haven't been Hasbro-ized....

New Optimus and Megatron Size-Wise

Post by ColdBain »

Is there any 'visual comparison' between Optimus and Megatron from this release? I'd love to get one of each, but that (water)gun is looking A LOT bigger than the Prime. I imagine that they'd be similar height once transformed, but can anyone help confirm that?

That re-issue of Tracks is pretty cool, where I live we don't get ANY re-issues in the stores, so it basically costs as much to get the Takara Transformer Collection re-issues as it would the Hasbro ones. I heard that Takara are not re-releasing anymore on the Transformer collection line, so it's good to hear that Hasbro are keeping it up.

So I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping costs when I buy these from ebay. Awesome.

Unless, of course, we get the classics line over here too, but what're the odds of that happening?

The Classics Line

Post by ColdBain »

There is a group of people from the official Transformers Site of New Zealand who have apparently confirmed that the classics line is being released in New Zealand for Christmas season this year, so surely it will be released in the UK as well.

Because producing new toys for the UK is a lot more expensive than just putting toys that have already been released in the USA into new packaging?

Your best bet will be ToysRexpensive....US. Argos have a decent range of Cybertron and Alternators but no classics, though the classics are reasonable priced at ToyRUs....

I don't get it, Hasbro could sell every Soundwave and Astrotrain tthat they could make. Instead they give us in the USA Stepper. a toy never before released in the US and warming shelves at at TRU near you.

What gives?

I have one Takara Transformer re-issue (#12 minibots...and no you can't have it) and it is very nice. 'cept I can't read most of the text.

There are many Re-Issues in Japan just waiting to come to the US.

Hasbro, are you listening?

The thing I hated most about Hasbro was the seeker jets having huge ass cannons and missiles.

If Starscreams cannons were actually that big then maybe he would have a chance at blowing up Megs.
