Binaltech news.. you gotta read this for yourself.

It's been a big day for BinalTech. The Toyota Bb is announced as BT-17 Skids, arriving in November. The street version of Prowl is announced as Vivid Blue Pearl Edition, arriving on the 28th of this month.

But more curious is the BinalTech Asterisk Series. "Alert featuring the WRX Prefecture Police meets Asterisk." Asterisk is a female cop. "Sunstreaker featuring the Viper GTS meets Junko." Junko is a racing queen. This means something a little different in Japan than it might in the US. Think "track bunny". "Broadcast featuring Toyota Bb meets Rumina." Rumina is a quick-to-the-scene news reporter. Will they keep a gun in their purse? Ships in September, September, and November, respectively.

[Update: An early fax suggested the girls might be Microman-based figures, but later info backs off that notion.]

While on the subject of Transformers, GC-23 Mega Convoy, billed as the last and biggest convoy yet at around sixty bucks, is due in September.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

Possibly the "Metroplex" proto we've seen before.

As for the article itself,that's...odd.Maybe they'll be kinda like that redeco of Meister by that swimsuit model, being restricted to one copy each?

DragonX76 "confirms" it...

Without stating a source, though, as usual.

Let's see if I got this right...

BT 17 is Skids, the prototype we've been seeing lately.

Three other, presumably news BTs are also released. Sunstreaker, Blaster and Red Alert using the same moulds as Dead End, Skids and Streak? [am I right?] including some sort of female figures with them?

They're not that much expensive, retailing at around 500 yen more than regular ones.

Getting them all :D

Probably Energon Kickers...with wigs.

The rest sound good to me but I want to see how they're gonna incorporate these girls into the BT storyline.

So, the Alternators are getting Ironhide, whereas Binaltech is getting Skids?

The lines are really starting to diverge... no binaltech Swerve, Alternators have Dragstrip/Decepticharge, Binaltech has Blackarachnia/Wild Ride, etc...

Also, Asterik is a Binaltech sub-line with little people figures? I'll pick those up just to have Sunstreaker, Red Alert, and Blaster.

I wonder if that means Soundwave, in either line, is possible... (broadcast=blaster, right?)

There's no indication that alts will be getting Ironhide just because people with the test shot claim it's him...because he's a small van. He might be Skids in the alts as well...

Who knows about Soundwave...and yes, broadcast IS blaster.

True, I guess there is still some room for movement as to whether the Alternator Ugly-Ass-Van van will be Skids or Ironhide, but it seems like Ironhide would sell better, being slightly more known than Skids.

We shall see, I suppose. That does leave me with... 7 Binaltechs to get, and two to three Alternators, depending on the van

That's great news that it's Skids! (it just bothered me that they were calling him Ironhide)

Also interesting news about Blaster and Red Alert. I hope they at least get new head sculpts.

And finally...Sunstreaker! Woo hoo! I look forward to the Binal-Tech story on why he ended up still being around... :)

I agree, the scion fits skids alot better than Ironhide, besides its not so crazy to see them release a skids alt since TRU did have him as part of the re-releases. news on streaker and the others is very cool, wonder is has will follow suit.

Head's Up...

While shopping at TRU in Los Angeles today, in addition to finding the first wave of Cybertron, I found out what the Mega-Alternators were.

It was a two-pack of Sideswipe and Smokescreen. Both were in their original packages but had been shrink wrapped together with a sticker on them that read, "Mega-Assortment. Compare at $39.98!" The two pack was offered at $19.99.

Sorry for being off topic, but I'm not registered and figured this thread was kind of close. Happy hunting.
