Am I the only one who dislikes Animated Jetstorm and Jetfire

Post by another tf fan »

Seriously, there is little in Animated I have not thought was fantastic. The story is good and the toys are great. Really I am still truly digging Animated.

...But...

Animated Jetfire and Jetstorm look absolutly horrible to me. I may get them anyways if the show makes them particularly interesting. I can usually justify toys I first disliked because of a good characterization (I am lookin at you, Oil Slick, Your bio and comic appearance did it for me).

All the reviews I see are positive for Jetfire and Jetstorm, some guy at Hasbro was in Toyfare lastmonth saying it was his favorite new toy and Derrick Wyatt has embraced them as wonderful pieces of engineering, yet I still think they look awful.

Am I alone? Are there others like me who love animated but hate the look of this toy? It sounds like he will be of some importance in Season 3 and I don't want to be without an important character in the line-up.
Come on and wind me up.

I don't really see what's wrong with them. Individually they look OK, wouldn't say great, though. Only thing wrong with it is the combined vehicle mode...

They are hideously ugly IMO.

and their combination gimmick is somewhat clever but doubles the ugly.

I'll have to see their cartoon personalitys before I buy the toys.
All that was needed was a catalyst and the machines of war are set in motion.

they are playskool my first pretenders... without shells.. and a combined mode.. honestly I hated them, but more and more they seem kinda decent, but I probably won't buy them. I started to watch a youtube review of them, and gave up cuz, there really isn't much to them. Seem to be good toy for a young person, but some pieces can fall off.

At first they looked terrible, but they seem to benefit from being transformed correctly in pictures.

It's a neat idea, but I don't know if I'd rate it as a great execution...

Tbh. I wasn't impressed with photos I've seen. They look really plain compared to the rather dynamic designs of other Animated figures.

I'm with Clay on this. I first thought they looked bad until I saw the non-mistransformed pictures. Then they started to warm up my interest. I'm currently hoping that they will come with their comic in Canada, as it sounds like an interesting read. The combined robot mode is neat, and the combined vehicle at least gets points for trying something different, but they're not anymore of a great execution as say Animated Prowl.

comparitively to other animated figures, the safeguard team seems a little inaccurate to the source material.the bot modes seem to suffer from energon prime syndrome

They do absolutely nothing for me. Their vehicle modes are simplistic, their robot modes look like they came from a crappy knockoff line, their combined robot mode looks silly, and their combined vehicle mode should be charged with assault for what it's done to my senses. I'd vote them (it?) the worst toy(s) of the Animated line.

I'm definitely not feeling any good vibes from Jetfire or Jetstorm. Maybe they'll be awesome in the cartoon, but I'm not wanting that Animated toy in the slightest.

I really like the figures. I got them last night for my birthday, and I think they were the figures I messed around with the most last night. I don't really see why everyone is hating them and calling them generic looking. To me they both have tons of character in their faces alone. The jet mode is a little simple, sure I'll give you that, but the Safeguard combination is really clever. If you transform them correctly, Safeguard looks really cool.

Could you provide some good close-up pics then? All the ones I've seen made them look...erm...not-so-great.

Probably this weekend, but maybe later, my son's birthday party is Saturday. Do you want pics just of Safeguard, or their singular bot modes?

I'm disappointed in the lack of the Fusion Dance from Dragon Ball Z.

For all those who asked me why i said he was kibbletastic, the x thing on his back is why. It's like a more stylish version of where the Multiforce's (individual) arms went.

He's looks like Crossbone Gundam.

I personally think the only thing good about these two are their individual plane modes. :p
