Meh, I've seen more revealing outfits. I actually like the cover, I'd buy a comic with that cover if I thought the writer was good...

The cover art to most of those comics is far better than most of what you see today.

And pre_crisis Supes rocked. I excluding the 50's to the 60's. Only 3 Superhero comics survived from the 1940's and they had to do what they had to do to survive :o
Remember even Batman was fighting pink aliens in this period :wtf:

1970's Superman rocks and inspired the film.

Wasn't Supes a really player back in the day?

Not quite the funny fledged boy scout we imagine. Playing Lois and Lana off each other like that. And there are loads of stories of cavewomen, alien girls and Wonderwoman :o

Lois must have had a terribly tight schedule back then, what with marrying another guy every other issue...

I don´t like asking, but - these covers aren´t real, are they?
In a perfect world, this would be a signature. As it stands, it's just the lack of.

Unfortunately, they are. "Lois Lane" sold rather well, too.

And here we have Superman being a xenophobic bastard...

I printed that cover out and I'm bringing it into my Japanese 201 class tonight. Should get a laugh.

I don´t doubt these titles, it´s the covers I can´t believe. Who´d think up such covers?

This one had a REALLY stupid story... basically, while fighting the Brothers Grimm, Spider-Woman gets attacked, defeated and tied up by that "Hangman". In the following issue, he brings her to his house, ties her to a chair, gags her and tells her he wants to "protect the helpless woman from the bad world out there". :eyebrow:

After telling her that, he leaves (way to go, great protector), she frees herself from the ropes and gets out. The Hangman is never heard of again after that incident (and neither did Jessica bother to check whether he might have kidnapped the next poor "helpless woman" who isn't blessed with super-powers that enable her to get free easily).

That scene is the most pointless bondage scene in a mainstream comic book EVER. Even Chris Claremont, who undoubtedly has a huge bondage fetish, somehow tries to tie (ugh, bad pun) them into the actual story. That stupid scene is a TOTALLY POINTLESS "let's get her tied up, then totally forget about anything surrounding that scene" nonsense. :wall:

And still, poor Jessica had a habit of getting tied up again...

Seems to be quite a common subject in recent comics as well...

hey nevermore is the hangman the same one from nightshift? y'know those guys who fought the west coast avengers? cause the brothers grimm were nightshift members too.....

if that is so than it gets a bigger WTF moment as the tying up women to protect them had nothing to do with his M.O. in the west coast series.....

I heard that Wonder Woman back in the 40's was pretty kinky at
