Ravage V Jaguar?

Post by Clay »

I just noticed the Binaltech Ravage is actually called Ravage on the box itself, not Jaguar.

When did the name switch in Japan? I've got the Soundblaster reissue box with me, but the names are all in Japanese (which is unusual, since there's normally some English on the boxes, too). I can't tell if the reissue tape included with it is called Ravage or Jaguar.

I know the Alternator Meister took the Japanese name because Aaron Archer didn't want "Autobot Jazz" written on the box, but I never noticed it with the BT kitty. I guess the name-mangling-door swings both ways.

Well, there's an actual car called a Jaguar, and BT Ravage is a Corvette. I think they used the english version name in that case to prevent confusion on that account.

For the same reason that Jazz became Meister. The rights to the name are taken by a car company.

Jaguar's name is mentionned in his booklet ;)
Few stuff in the UK to trade/sell. Measly sales thread.

The Binaltech toy is the only Japanese Transformers release officially named "Ravage" for the reasons stated above.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.
