errors in Tech Spec pages

Post by FortMax »

I'm glad to see much of the Hartmans' old site content back up, but there are a few errors, some of which were present on tsarchive.net

US:
Rewind has no sigil or link to tech spec

Europe:
in both 1993 and 1994, the Obliterators' sigils are swapped
1994 Ironfist has the wrong sigil

I also suggest separating Beast Wars Neo and Beast Wars Metals (I've done this myself with the copy of their site I pulled from the wayback machine)

Also, if you want to use them, I have all of the faction sigil JPEGs the old site.

Whoops. Thought I'd caught all of the code that might've got chomped by the regexes...

Fixed, ta.

Mmm, makes sense.

The little squares, some of which varied a bit year to year? I didn't really see the point... could make a separate page with the images in case people want to use them as avatars, I suppose...

You at least should get a version of the G2 symbols for G2 and MW, and the Blentron symbol (and possibly the Moon sigil from the toy's robot points). There are .png files at Teletraan-I.

Also, the Others section on the Japanese BW and BWII are marked by just a Predacon symbol.

When I get chance, I'll google names and fill in faction symbols for JBW characters. (Or will get Clay to do it, as he followed those lines.)

JBW:
Primal and Megatron are Maximal and Predacon (duh)
Armordillo's a Maximal, Snapper a Pred

BWII:
Moon isn't in either faction (she has her own sigil on the robot points)
The rest are Maximals

BWN:
Heinrad is a Maximal, the other three are Blentrons

BWM:
Jaguar had both Decepticon and Predacon symbols,

Cheers, I think I've got those added in correctly.

Is it anywhere on the toy? Only pic I spotted is this -- http://www.dvandom.com/tv/9moon.GIF

Yeah, saw that. Seems to be a designer's joke rather than a faction symbol.

Maybe, but outside of Optimal Optimus and Depthcharge the only faction symbols on BW toys were rubsigns, Transmetal name stamps, and BWN and TM2 Spark Crystals.

One final thing. The 1993 European G1 line used the G2 sigils.

Another problem: The links for Canadian Bonecrusher and Hook need their extensions changed from ".JPG" to ".jpg". They currently 404 redirect to the front page.

That, and the Spanish Classics Onslaught should link to euro1991__Onslaught_(1991-ES).jpg. It currently links to the tsarchive.net filename "Onslaught_(1991-ES).jpg"

Ta. Anything else?

Looking again at the differences in bios between something such as the US and UK G2 bio for Grimlock, trying to database this stuff really creates a mess...

US:
BW:
1998:
No listings for:
Deluxe Fuzor Torca
Mega Transmetal Megatron

1999:
BW TM2:
Pred sigil next to Dinobot links to Cheetor for some reason
Mega Transmetals 2 header and BA's sigil link to Scourge

Animorphs:
No listings for:
Deluxe Ax
Mega Ax

2000:
BM:
Basic:
Silverbolt's Sigil links to Scavenger

(And before you ask why I'm going through these, I'm saving all of these in the copy of tsarchive.net I have on my hard drive.)

Also, did the copy you were sent include the /resource directory? I need resource/cross-sells/1996-1a.jpg and resource/cross-sells/1998-T3.jpg as those aren't on the Wayback Machine.

Cheers. Gonna have to come back to corrections later today or tomorrow...

Haven't got a /resource/ directory here, but I think the files you want are in the copy I downloaded in 2002...

http://tfarchive.com/visions/denyer/cas ... -sells.zip

(If you've got any files for those directories that aren't there, could you upload 'em somewhere?)

Thanks, those had what I was missing.

I zipped the entire /resources file, but I don't have anyway to host it. LEt me see if my parents' Verison account includes web hosting.

Also, BM Magmatron should have a Dinobot sigil (not your mistake, it's a holdover from tsarchive.net)

http://rapidshare.com/files/100761180/resource.zip

Just the html files for the /resource hierarchy, as you already have the images, and including the images would have made the upload take forever.

I downloaded these from the web archive in either '05 or '06. The only changes were changing the file location at the top of the html code and removing the stuff added by archive.org. All you'll need to do is change the BASE HREF value to wherever you put the files.

Euro:
BW 2000:
Cackle should link to euro2000__Cackle.jpg instead of euro1999__Cackle.jpg

Also, X-9 Jaguar is part of the BWM line, and you might want to change the (mega) and (ultra) tags on the Metals Megatrons to (TM I) and (TM II) to match the Metals Cheetors.

This should cover everything currently up.

Also, filling in the gaps on sigils. These are not from the hartmans' site, but put together by me from two sources:
the 1992 sigils were from pictures taken by the Hartmans for Botch's archive, and the other two were from PNGs at the Teletraan I

1992 European G1 symbols

Best put before the first G2 sigil

Moon

Blentron

These two are best put between the MW and Animorphs sigils

Cheers. I think I've added those in correctly.

If you've got the original images for the Euro 92 G2 symbols, I can take a go at masking them without the pixel fringe.

I got rid of the originals awhile ago, but hopefully Botch kept the uncropped card pictures the Hartmans sent him lasy year.
