As the first glimpses of Transformers - The Last Knight have been leaked fans have responded with the usual excitement by whining that a character doesn't look much like an older character with the same name. A focal point for dissent has been Hot Rod not being red with orange bits, a major surprise considering the heavily G1-influenced colour schemes given to Ironhide, Ratchet, Jazz, Sideswipe, Roadbuster, Soundwave, Bonecrusher and Starscream.

Fans have taken to social media to complain about the changes in the mistaken belief anyone cares what they think. Several have predicted that this change will mean an end to the franchise's run of box office success if the fandom's concerns aren't taken seriously and if Michael Bay isn't replaced by the director of whichever Marvel film they saw last.

A Paramount spokesman has dismissed these claims while expressing sympathy for the amount of free time being a 300lb basement dwelling virgin generates.
