What was your favorite version of the TF theme song?
1. The original used in Season One with visual sequence ending in transformers flying behind a mountain
2. Season 2- the Jazzier version with visual sequence ending in Megs and Prime in hand to hand combat while being immersed in a purple flash grid of energy
3. the movie version suitable for fans of hair metal? (Of which, I am one)
4. The 3rd/4th season sequence with Magnus, Rodimus, and Kup coming straight at you (there was also an alternate version of this visually, but the same music).
(ed. note- these are all American versions; I'm sure there are tons of variations out there, particularly with Takara's ongoing Headmasters series)

To be honest, it's been aaaaages since I've seen anything from season 3/4, so the theme from thenabouts has already left my memory. Thus, I'm going to go with the season 2 tune. Possibly because the accompanying animation shows Omega Supreme flatten Blitzwing. *cackles*

TFTM and Season 3/4 had the best tunes, i liked Season 3 as it had the major characters from the film in it, which i suppose is obvious seeing as it was a vehicle for selling toys. MTMTE still rocks as an opening for a cartoon.
Interesting, no sorry wait a minute no, very boring!
Nixons baaaaack!
The script original called for me to say yes, but I gave it a subtle twist.

"Overture" by Bad Religion. It's not actually supposed to be a cover, reference, or homage in any way, but the lead guitar riff sounds suspiciously like the "More than meets the eye!" note progression. Add that to the mechanical apocolypse-type production and effects, and it's really fitting of the theme. I pray it's included in the next video game.
Flec's selling a lot of RID, Armada, and Energon, and a few G1 toys. 'S all I'm sayin'.

Did Van Halen write the touch, did Stan Bush simply take the credit as no one could believe that Van Helen had written such a master piece? Probably.

Well, of the American G1 themes I like the movie opening best, followed by season 2 and season 3 and 1.
And here's my Top 5 *well, 6 actually* of the Japanese theme songs.
1. Chôjin Masterforce Opening and Ending
2. Zone Opening
3. Headmasters Opening *Hironobu Kageyama simply rocks! *
4. Victory Opening
5. Miclone Densetsu Ending

No, it is Stan Bush's song. Don't believe fools who can't label the names of songs on p2p software properly.Originally posted by onearmedrich

The Lion's version's my favourite, followed by Season 3 one.

So many of you are basing your preference for a piece of music on the visual stimuli that accompanied it. This is most perplexing.
I would guess the reason being is because a particular version is associated with a particular visual for the different yearly waves of characters that were being released. It is a most strong connection for me, to the point where if I see an original Grimlock figure, I think of the music and visual that he was first featured in. They are bonded together, and that was the kind of feel I was originally going for when I asked this question. However, people are free to pick based upon a.) music only, or b.) visual only.

The music, I believe, is suppose to help some one associate the visual with the Audio.
The last few nights I have been watching Season 3, and though the theme song has changed, the other music in the backgroung has not. Its still the same.
And the rock music in the Movie made everything more exciting in my opinion. It wasn't the same old stuff, it was cool (at the time) and upbeat.

i based my choice on the merits of the music it self not on the visual accompanying it
so i really dont care what visuals go with it
