Want to play a particular character but don't know where he was seen last? Wondering about someone's history in the game? Here's how to find out!

1) Click this link to access the forum's handy search function. You can also find this link at the top of every page on the forum, just next to the Log Out link.

2) Change the "search forum" box to RPG History, the very last one on the list. If you know the character you're looking for was played recently (say, within the last two months), try the Generation 1 RPG forum instead.

3) Click the "show results as posts" button. Make sure that posts are shown by last posting date in descending order too.

4) Type in the character name you're looking for in the keyword box. If you know who played him last, you can refine your search by putting in that player's name in the user name box.

5) When the search is done, click post titles to bring up the post where your character name was used. You can find other occurrences of the character's name on that page using your browser's find function (which, for many browsers, you can access with Ctrl+F).

Tips!
- Some characters (like Quick Switch and Skywarp) have abbreviated ways of referencing their names. It may be worth checking into both the full and shortened versions.
- A lot of character names (like Slag and Ruckus) will be used in improper ways. Don't be discouraged, and make sure to look through a couple posts in your search.
- Watch the dates of posts. If there were a bunch of posts within a week pertaining to a certain character, and the next prior post was three months earlier, it might be worth investigating what happened.

This is an easy way to find out the backstory not only behind characters you may want to play, but characters you're just interested in knowing more about. A lot of great stories have been written by a lot of players in the RPG over the years. Read them!
