Also, they appear to be once again pursuing the slogan "If it doesn't say Transformers, it's not robots in disguise".

I'm not into all the legal stuff behind tademarking, but Autobots is just a plural, so is it really necessary to trademark plurals of other words?
if yes, then they could trademark 'Optimus Primes', 'Megatrons', 'Starscreams', as there are enough of those, even in each line

(I am awara that my logic may seem silly, dont blame me for that please)

Looks like a few of you didn't understand the real point of this.

Hasbro didn't just have the idea of trademarking the name "Autobots".
The managed to register the trademark. That means, they don't have to worry about losing it if not being constantly used every other minute any longer. They used the term often enough to rightfully proclaim it theirs.

Autobot(s) was not yet regisered? Or they need two different registration for Autobot and Autobots?
