Post by never again »

i've been into transformers since day one in '84 and have never until recently on the net heard the term "gestalts". where did that term come from? how long has it been around? and how do you pronounce it?

It's a German-origin word (of psychological origin) used to refer to the product of a merging of minds.

It actually has two primary meanings - the first just means "shape," the second is from "gestalt psychology" and is the one I've listed above.

The term is never actually used in any officially sanctioned storyline, and as such is purely a fandom-allocated word.

Damn, and I always thought Gestalts was a Japanese term. Thanks for clearing that up Brend.
