SPOILER! (select to read)Reminder: {spoiler}{/spoiler} is the markup for stuff like the above, just replace the { } brackets with [ ] ones.Thankfully not. Obviously none of the tie-in writers can go directly against the movie, so it's open-ended enough that there could be more linking the two if that bit of the script's been kept... but I'm hoping it got cut in a later revision, personally.
Also spoiler-y (movie concept art)... this guy appears to be one of those on the cover:

UGH! Why do all the Transformers on the cover look like the Invid from Robotech? Do you just have to shoot them in the eye to destroy them?

IDW are okay to use the characters/likenesses of Prime, Megatron, Starscream, etc. inside the issue, but [due to publicity arrangements for the film] sticking too many spoilers on covers that'll be on store shelves months ahead of the cinema début is something they'll avoid.

Well, on the one hand bear in mind that no company will send something out for review to someone they reckon is probably going to savage it.
On the other, a common thread in the reviews I know of so far is that people enjoyed a story set in the movie universe more than they thought they would -- implying they're either rhetoricians by trade or did really like it.
Occam's razor suggests the latter.

Something seems to have gone awry with the text over page four in the images Newsarama posted, so I've substituted the page I received... bear in mind that all of these preview images are advance copies, so they may have been spliced/reflowed/corrected, etc.
