Dead Autobot sigpics

Post by Sir Auros »

I'm thinking about making a little line of them, and if anyone wants one, just request it. They'll all pretty much be along the same lines of the Ratchet one I'm using now, Terminator skulls in place of faces.

Yes Ill have one, I want to see some finished products other than your current one. I was also thinking of making something similar, with dead Autobot sigs, for instance, one would be with Ratchet getting impaled on Megatrons arm...

*Bump* In case you didn't notice the edits.

Here's the last 2 in the Autobot series...as Blaster said in a certain accusatory thread, I'll go ahead and do a Decepticon series too, but only if you request a specific Decepticon.

Here's Ironhide...

And here's poor 'ole Prowl...

Only counting those that died in the movies, and as for Optimus-A-He's too cool to be defiled so, B-He came back to life...as for Ultra Mag A-He wasn't killed in the movie, B-I don't count the Japanese series, but I'll see what I can do about a Soundwave...I need to find a better looking terminator skull...

Yes, but...
A-Poor quality pic that suffers a severe loss in quality every time I resize it, and it's a .gif I believe...
B-Don't know how to rotate the skull and copy it into my working canvas without having that canvas rotate as well.

Firstly, convert to a true-colour image palette before you start manipulation; your software is probably trying to anti-alias in the original 256-max GIF palette. Less colours, more image degradation, more grainy.

What software ya using, anyway? Masks and objects are your friends.

Yeah, I know better, but at the time I was rushing to get it out here, but now I want to go back and fix them all. I'm using Photoshop 6. Know how I can rotate the skull and have it not rotate the whole canvas when I paste it into my working canvas?

Here's how I've been doing all my sigs so far...Take the Autobot pic, cut it out (and the face) by coloring white all around it, then using the magic wand to select all the white areas and then inverting the selection, I paste the terminator skull into the background, then paste the autobot on top. Position the layers correctly, use the stamp when the skull's too small in places, then draw the eyes with a blue paintbrush. Yeah, there are probably better, easier ways to do it, but I'm still kind of a casual photoshop user.

You can rotate the skull head if its in its own layer, without affecting the autobot portion of the pic. Or just use the original terminator pic from which the skull is coming from, and rotate that before cutting out the skull and placing it onto the dead autobot.

You can probably stick the part of the image you want to rotate into a separate layer and just rotate that layer... I'm not very au fait with Photoshop as I balk at paying serious money for software and run a legal system. Using good ol' Corel PhotoPaint, you simply mask the area you want to work with and promote it to an object. Then you can layer objects however you wish.

Well, as you can see from my sig, I've tinkered around and got a better pic (that I still had to convert to jpg anyway) and I'm really quite pleased with the result. I'm gonna redo plasmodium's and TC84's before redoing the others, although I think I'm going to leave Windcharger as is, since he doesn't look so cra.ptastic. Yeah, I'll do Decepticons if you request them.

Still needs more work...need to warp Ironhide and Prowl's faces to match up with their helmets, then need to redo Wheeljack.
