Not overly fussed with the bigger TF stuff...

This, on the other hand, is awesome:

...and fair play to anyone who goes these lengths to market their own stuff.

Yup, Prime is gonna take a chunk out of my bankaccount this year (for the first time since RID, excluding MP-04 of course ;) ).

Not taken by the Ultimate Bumblebee, though. Looks a bit tacky given the suggested price bracket. Must have some electric gizmos worked in, which I can always do without.

Would be interested to find out more about the non-movie TFs in the movie line, other than Wreckage. Could be good, but expensive!

Early days yet!

:)

New sale thread added with a range of Transformers including Masterpiece, Botcon, CHUG, RID, Movies etc.

Looking for MP-11T Thundercracker and MP-9 Rodimus v2 (Takara version with as few QC issues as possible).

Check out my new sale thread now!

Also items on eBay.

Busts by Art Asylum:

For the same amount of material used to make the bases, they could just have given them legs.

In the SWTF department, I TOTALLY want that first-gen Jedi Starfighter. I'd prefer it in non-orange, so here's to hoping for a repaint. Even then, the engineering is much improved over the last one.

The rest of the SWTF stuff is mediocre or just bad. (though the DarthStar looks interesting--I'm assuming it's supreme sized)

The 8" GI Joe stuff is looking pretty good. SWTF designs are actually improving. I definitely like the Death Star and Cody. If I were collecting that line, I'd so go for those two.

I am severly underimpressed with Ultimate Bumblebee.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Alternators (especially the two I'm about to bash) but the back end of this Bumblebee makes the back ends of the early alternators look consice and compact. Tracks and Sideswipe both have car parts hanging off that they really didn't know what to do with (Hound is probalby the worse offender, and Grimlock has his weird butt flap as well). Anyway, but this one is really bad. This thing doesn't transform, it takes off its shell and hangs it on its back. Delux Bumblebee is much better than this (unless there's a bunch of crap on his back too that we can't see from the pictures).

It's just, for the price range, I expected a helluva lot more than this.

You're referring to the rollbars/front seats hanging down below the waist? If so, try keeping them folded upwards but compressed to give Hound an "army backpack" look that will free up the waist and make him far more poseable.

As for what I'm seeing...I'm really digging that Death Star. The vehicle mode is gorgeous and the Vader bot mode doesn't look bad either.

The Ultimate Optimus looks a bit blocky in the chest area but the rest of him looks fine to me so I think I'll pick him up. The Ultimate Bumblebee looks interesting as well and I'm a sucker for complex looking TFs.

On another note, usually I don't give a fig about statues but I have to admit, that Omega Supreme one is freaking awesome looking. I just may have to get him.

That's Leader class Optimus. Thankfully the only ultimate figure so far is Bumblebee.

Completely agree with you. I've never bought any of the statues, don't really see the point, but that's the first one that's made we think "wow, that's stunning!". Anyone know the RRP cause i'm severely tempted!

What about the prototype pic in the link below? Was there any confirmation as to what this is (...aside from it being Optimus Prime) or if it's even coming out?

That prototype is either Voyager Optimus Prime or Deluxe Optimus Prime. Given the size and the accessories, making Prime and ultimate will have him cost well over 100 USD.

Much of that gray plastic on prime should be chrome... it looks so cheap without it.
Come on and wind me up.
