Infestation Volume 2 feat Heart of Steel

Post by Neuronutter »

Seems its time for Infestation V2 featuring Transformers, Dungeons and Dragons, GI JOE, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, etc.

TF from the Hearts of Steel era? Really? Does anyone care about that? It's often-requested? Also no Star Trek and Ghostbusters?

An attempt to tap into the "steampunk" trend? Hearts of Steel was very steampunk-y.

This is my signature. My wasted space. My little corner. You can't have it. It's mine. I can write whatever I want. And I have!

Fun though the original infestation was, I dont think it really worked overall. Dont know if I'll be bothered picking this up - Hearts of Steel was a barrel of "meh"

Hearts of Steel? I honestly forgot it ever existed. The comic had great concepts but it ended up meh, like most of IDW's output. I bet the reason it ever surfaced is that it's the only thing IDW could claim as it's own (Beast Wars, Animated and the Movieverse aren't really plausible for a crossover).

I don't think Infestation could work well a second time, TBH.

That's Hearts of Steel Optimus wrestling with Cthulhu. I am all over Infestation 2. They are bringing in the Lovecraftian Mythos in. Being a massive Lovecraft (and his followers) fan, and a Transformers one, I'm game.

Was the first Infestation set in the ongoing? Thankfully this doesn't seem to be.

The first one was set in the ongoing - hell, thats how they wrote Kup out of it.

Whatever about the storyline, I really like the art in this. Might pick it up after all (I am such an easy mark!)

Even with enjoying the two issues so far I feel bad about it. It's like being a Catholic.
