Recently rewatched. Guess we have to work on that "it was because one of them ****ed off and they had less Chris Barrie" theory for RD VII/VIII...

Distinctly meh, yes. Series 5 was probably my least favourite bit of the proper run.

But let's be fair now. Very few things are funnier than genocide.

I find season four the least interesting of the first six (though I'm amazed people apparently don't like Waxworld, sheer genius.

Holoship is dull for the most part, all the best bits are those set on the Dwarf.

Seem to recall season three being a bit hit and miss, then liking almost everything up to the end of season six. With the possible exception of Back To Reality, which I find hugely overrated.

Do really like Holoship, though I haven't bothered to rewatch RD much in recent years. Can't really see the point when I have edited highlights in my head.
