BBTS Megatron

Post by Prime07 »

Hey all,

Anyone here going to order this bad boy when he goes on sale?

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail

This looks to be one of the few actual true to the cartoon Megatrons out there and will go perfect with masterpiece Prime.

I hope you can easily pry the orange thing off. :(

Prime07, before anyone else gets a chance to give you hell, lemmie clue you in on MP-05.

Masterpiece Megatron is a highly anticipated figure. It has been discussed heavily on this board and the orange tip has been debated.

I recommend you read a little more about it before posting. I'm not digging into you, and I am happy to have a new member to the board, but you would do yourself a favor if you researched topics before posting them.
Come on and wind me up.

Prime07, listen to the man. Ask the mods or admins to close the thread...you'll be glad you did.

Big deal, leave the new guy alone. It's not like he commited a crime.

That's exactly the point. He will be treated as such though. He doesn't deserve that, especially considering he *IS* the new guy.

If I were in his shoes, I'd want someone to give me pointers here and there before I did anything that would unleash the "fury" of rabid fanboys who all happen to think they're right.

Honestly, I don't think there's anyone, right now, who would attack him for talking about MP-05, since it is a fairly current thing and all.

Would guess most people are going to wait and find out where they can get one without the orange cap.

There are rumblings of a Hasbro domestic release (altered) and Takara producing stock destined for the Americas from the same altered run. No-one's sure what the situation is for European buyers yet.

I'd like one...but it depends on price. Seen a few on eBay but as they are from the far East shipping is quite a bit.
If he costs a lot I'll have to go for the Classic Megatron.
If you can keep your head when all around are loosing theirs...you probably haven’t grasped the situation!!

1.) I just don't have that kind of dough.
2.) I just wouldn't feel right spending that much on one single figure.
3.) I just can't get around the Die-Cast Metal, which I absolutely hate.

*sighs* He looks to be a DO NOT WANT on my list. =\

Where is this fierce debate about MP-Megs? There's a bit of info in the News forum, but little discussion about whether people are actually getting the thing...

That's why I posted this thread. When I did a search I didn't find anything about that or any debate at all. Just news about it's release.

I was just wondering who was gonna get it.

I am going to get one, and I know at least a couple of other members who will import Megatron.

The orange cap thing applies to buyers in the United States due to toy gun laws etc. There's been no notifications of anything like that for Europe.

As Denyer said, there's hints that Hasbro plans to release a modified MP Megatron in the states. Also, they're opposed to importing one [would hurt their sales] and will alert customs about the situation.

Are there any major differences between versions released in different parts of the world? Apart from the 'orange' thing.

TSFC can't stand die cast metal. How difficult is this to understand? Personally I prefer good-quality plastic - it allows for better colour matching if a figure's made from largely one material (the original Sideswipe, or at least the examples I've seen closely, suffers badly from this), and avoids paint-chipping. Sure, in some cases (e.g. Rubbish Megatron) it allows a little counter-balancing, but on many Transformers it's largely superfluous.

Well personally I don't care either way. But die cast parts certainly are more damage-prone; they either chip or collect lint which looks and feels ugly, but not always though. My God Ginrai's still perfectly fine.

But yes, I DO hate the die cast fanatics.
