did the Dinobots ever form a giant robot?

Post by bluecase »

Hi, I first heard this rumor when I was about 10 years old, then again recently from my friend. He said in the episode, a 6th dinobot was created to accomplish the combining. I've been wanting to know if this was true or not for years. :)

Well I know that the Dinobot Combiner was in the "The Beast Within" Comic for the Metrodome G1 DVD boxsets but I don't remember it ever being in the show

As much as I wished it were true, it isn't to be frank...I did hear rumours concerning the rumoured "Dinobot Gestalt" but it ain't true, the writers thought he would be too stupid and too powerful to be a worthy opponent for adversaries such as Devastator.

Dr. Evil, is it possible that you could show me what the "Dinobot Gestalt" looks like from that "The Beast Within" comic for the Metrodome DVD boxsets?

No, the writers never thought about it because the toys didn't combine. Which left it to the generally less-talented bracket of fan writer to write **** where the Dinobots combine "because, they're, like, a subgroup so they must combine".

There was never a Dinobot Gestalt in the cartoon. I wish there was.
If there was what do think the name would be? I'd say something along the lines of Dinoking.

I have the beast within comic....it's such a pile of Sh** the dinobots don't combine because their's no reson for them to do so. they're a commando group designed to bail out the autobots when the s*** hits the fan. In the G1 cartoon they took down Devestator a couple of times, in the G1 comic they pretty much nailed Trypticon without the need to combine. All the Gestalt groups are pretty lame when they're in their normal robot modes whereas the Dinobots were designed to be killing machines from the off.

Are the arms of DinoKingPrawnCrackers ment to look 50 times bigger than the rest of the body, or was the artist a graduate of the Pat Lee School of Art and Creative Accounting?

I really wish the Autobot Headmasters would combine. The gestalt mode would be called Headaking!

And the Decepticon Planes. The gestalt would be called Inferion! *fanboy drool*

Thanks, it looks different to the ones I have on my computer (they look mostly like Grimlock with the face) but they're basically what you would call chibis in the anime world *sorry, couldn't find an appropriate enough word for it*

Actually, they did, but only Grimlock and Swoop, and it was in Energon. His name? Mega Dinobot

Still, looks-wise it's in the top 5 for Energon.

Yeah, and Swoop's not so bad on his own. Grimlock's dino mode is nice, but his robot mode looks like something that would be released in a playschool line . . .

Wasn´t there some sort of combining dinosaur in one of the japanese series?
I *think* it´s been the Dinobots, with some sort of additional armor to provide a link-up.
In a perfect world, this would be a signature. As it stands, it's just the lack of.

It was Dinoforce, from Victory, who combined to form Dinoking. They're nothing like the Dinobots beyond being Transformers who turn into dinosaurs.

The Japanese had Dinoking, Takara's version of Monstructor, and the only pretender combiner. While monstructor had monsters, Dinoking had pretender shells that were dinosaurs. Now, that would be a kickass reissue, just for the shells.
