Don't recognise too many of the names, but at least there's some rock.

Yeah, just the last four that I don't recognise personally.

Not that I care for all the artists that I do recognise mind you...

i used to like the smashing pumpkins...is this a new song by them?

disturbed is a good band and the linkin park song was in the trailer and sounded alright.

still got no love for the goo goo dolls

edit: did stan bush really think he was gonna get in this movie?
Come on and wind me up.

It's from a comeback album due this year, I think.

Kind of bizzare.... "Quick, hire everyone that was popular ten years ago!"

Really disliked the Goo Goo Doll's track, not that I was ever a fan of them anyway. I'm actually more curious about the instrumental track.

Last five for me.

God I hear that...

Using the current Linkin single smacks of desperate bandwagoneering. I'm equally surprised and relieved by the lack of The Strokes, given that they'll get enough publicity out of the movie as it is...

What's with the asterisks?

Wow, mom and pop sure will be faintly annoyed by that lot (and be reluctantly forking out £40 for merchandised hoodies).

Still, no Stan Pubes or "Wanker" Al Yankovic. I can live with that.

I like both of 'em in small doses. For a film with live giant robots I'd be thinking more industrial metal, though...

*Was going to drop a joke, along the lines of "What? No "The Touch remix? :(," but since there's all ready discussion of good, old Stan, that's a bit moot.*

Wonder if "Transformers theme" will be something similar to the theme song, or something new and different, without words.

I thought Stan Bush was composing a song. What happened?
"Some people are like slinkies, not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs."

Movies I've seen recently:
Red
Johnny Got His Gun
A Clockwork Orange
Fight Club
Toy Story 3
Zombieland
Tenacious D The Pick of destiny
Watchmen

Completely different. The classic theme doesn't make an 'appearance' at all - even, apparently, as an homaged cord (like what ST:TMP did with the original Trek theme)

Too bad, really...

I'm back from a few weeks off because of work. The soundtrack looks good, I'm a fan of the goo goo dolls and I used to be a smashing pumkins fan when I was a teenager. I thought they split? Anyway this movie soundtrack will be a part of my collection.

Mutemath's TRANSFORMERS theme...

http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=5817

Au-to-bots are watching OH-VER you...

Kind of reminds me of T-U-R-T-L-E POWER by Partners in Kryme.

[edit:]
and the run-down of the Autobots' names is just the pinnacle of cheese.

Where's the metal?

edit: I hope they don't have that song anywhere in the movie, not even the credits. That would totally spoil the vibe. Maybe they should reconsider Lion's version. It has an awesome solo...:D

I think H.I.M. and Disturbed is as close as they get, but H.I.M. isn't the best, and i don't know if that song by Disturbed is their best metal vibe for this sort of movie.
