BT-16 (Wildrider/"Black Widow") postponed?

Post by Nevermore »

First we hear that BT-16, the Binaltech counterpart of Decepticharge, will be named "Wildrider" in Japan.

Next HLJ reveals a new color scheme.

Then HLJ list him for "December 2005" instead of "September 2005".

Then online stores start listing him as "Black Widow" instead, which fits the new color scheme.

Then Fan to Fan report from a Japanese toy show that Skids will be BT-16, not BT-17.

And now HLJ report that Wildrider got indefinitely postponed.

Hmmm.

Got the same mail, was going to post it....

Hlj informed me that the december release date was an error they kept making.

Let's see what we're eventually going to get...

I'm not sure if I'm sad because it's getting postponed/cancelled, or if I'm happy because that's one less $50 figure I have to squeeze into the budget.

Ah, well. Bring on the Scion in triplicate, then!

I like how the conspiracy freaks are now attributing this to the Takara/Tomy merger.

Riiiight, because the merger had not implications on any other upcoming Takara releases so far.

could the Alternator Decepticharge be the cause of delaying Wild Lazer's release?
(Decepticharge was to be given away via the BT book)

I seriously have no idea where that "Wild Lazer" nonsense is coming from. All the Japanese online stores I've been checking called him ワイルドライダー (Wildrider). For it to be interpreted as "Wild Laser", it'd at least require someone mistaking the ダ (da) for a サ (sa) or a ザ (za), and even then, it'd be "riser", not "laser".
