Chris: Oh, so much… something huge — HUGE, I say without hyperbole–is planned for Transformers in 2008. But before that, you get Devastation, Beast Wars, more Spotlights, the New Avengers crossover (and a Spotlight spinning out of that, featuring a character who makes his IDW debut in that series)…

I don’t know why I did it originally, but it’s the truth, and I don’t expect a lot of people to understand. I based it on my brother Larry. We’re 13 months apart, and he was in Vietnam serving as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He had some pretty devastating experiences over there, and when he came home he had somewhat changed; I saw a newer, different human being, and it was very impressive. When the Transformers came up, and the leader Optimus Prime, I just thought of Larry and their voices are similar. I started reading the lines the way my brother would talk.

As a huge Grimlock lover myself there was just no room in the first movie for the Dinobots, we had to focus on the original Transformers with Optimus Prime and Megatron. But if the box office allows us to make a sequel, the door is open to a lot of the Transformers universe. I have a very cool idea on how to intro the Dinobots and Constructicons.
