Alternators Prowl cancelled IN THE UK

Post by Nevermore »

Before anyone screams, I repeat: ONLY CANCELLED BY HASBRO UK. UK as in "Europe, not USA".

Reason is apparently that British kids wouldn't recognize this kind of cop car... :wall:

Simply stupid, but it's their loss of money. If he were to be imported in the UK, he'd make his way to Greece eventually. I wouldn't buy him, but many others would.

Not a recognisable police car...what else are we going to hear?

When was Prowl actually coming out in the UK? We haven't had most of the rest of the Alternators, so I don't see how this can be filed under "cancelled"...

It's just a venue for stores to pick out products, not what will get a release.

Argos being the main retailers, there's only a couple of stock opportunities per year. Thus far we've had Smokescreen/Silverstreak, and Windcharger + remaining stock. Swindle is seen enough that at least one other retailer has picked that mould up—whether Argos will add Swindle for Christmas or another figure is currently open.

The AllSpark poster seems to be recounting something that was made up on the spot by a customer service line...

What about the blue version? Will the blue Integra only be released by Takara?

Did Hasbro release the red version of Meister, the yellow version of Tracks or the "#7" version of Smokescreen?

Until we're being told otherwise, we are to assume that the blue version of Prowl will be another Takara-only variation.

What a stupid reason for cancelling it, just because we won't recognise it. What, can't we look on the internet to see what car he's supposed to be, or look in a book about cars? Or for that matter, look on a transformers fansite, so we can find out what kind of car he's supposed to be?

I know Argos have been selling the alternators, as I bought Silverstreak not long ago. But I'm pretty sure Forbidden Planet have sold alternators in the past, and http://www.epicheroes.com sell the binal tech figures, and it looks like epic heroes will be selling the binal tech version of Prowl http://www.epicheroes.com/webshopnew/by ... p?ID=18556

Oh well, looks like I'll get my Prowl from epic heroes then lol

That's more or less the reason most of the other alts were skipped in England. Remember a while ago when they announced they weren't releasing SideSwipe because the car model wasn't released in Britain?

I think it's a way to lose customers. Seriously, how many people living in European countries, with access to the net and money, prefer to buy Alternators? Put aside the fact that they are overpriced in Europe [Binaltechs cost only 10 euros more], missing out 3/4 of the line is too much.

What alternators have been released in the UK? And for that matter, will there be any more released this year? Or after this year?

So...

Hasbro UK actually think Alternators are targetted at children?

Someone should send them a memo to bring them up to speed...

According to Bodycount, Hasbro in GENERAL consider Alternators aimed at children.

I hate to say this, but there are a lot of people saying/claiming that Alts are targeted at kids and not adults, the main reason is Alts being made in plastic
