false, Char's Counterattack... good movie, good story, sticks w/the Gundam plot line, didn't have any corny crap in it (well other than the end, but it had to appeal to those weird Japanese anime watchers!), betrayal, love, jealosy, hate... and big mobile suits that do more than just look pretty :D

Either that or Samurai X, good movie also if you like blood blood and more blood

... and BLOOD!

I just like using the word false :)

and you just don't watch the right series (if you think that G Gundam is what Gundam is all about, I will hurt you), or just pick it up from the middle... I thought Gundam was stupid until I watched it all from Gundam til Stardust Memories... then I was hooked. The story flows quite well in the main continuity and doesn't have any bs twists and turns that you find in most anime. Some of the best writing to come out of Japan imo :)

The only full series I saw was Gundam Wing, and the movie for it, when it was aired on tv. I was hyped that it was going to be aired, but slowly, as the series went on, I was getting bored and I was a bit disappointed. I found better anime though later (Love Hina, Saikano, AMG etc) :)

Wing... well... wing was decent. Stardust Memories and Char's Counterattack are the best bar none imo

Ghost in the Shell is rather over-rated in my oppinion. It was on okay flick but not the "Greatest Anime movie of all time" as many herald it.

Gundam? I liked the original Mobile Suit Gundam mostly because I really like "dated" japanese animation. Late 70's and early 80's stuff.

I hated Gundam Wing. Well, the movie was decent, but the rest was awful. Too many melodramatic pretty-boy teenagers for my taste.

8th MS Team was okay. That's all I really have to say about that show.

And G Gundam isn't bad. I like the Street FIghter feel to it. I nice change of pace.

As you can see I've only watched what they've shown on TV. I bought the Endless Waltx DVD for some reason, however.

watch Char's Counterattack, quite possibly the best Gundam movie to date... and Gundam Seed isn't all that bad either, but the subtitles suck :(

You obviously haven't seen Grave of the Fireflies if you don't think it's the best anime movie ever made.

By the way, imo, Zeta + 0080 + Turn-A are the best Gundam series to date.

seen it, I liked it... but, it didn't have any massive robots in it :p

I'll always be a die hard gundam fan, I even put up w/Gundam Wing and G Gundam because they were gundam series.

Turn-A was nice also, good story line :) I hope they bring that over next

I dunno, I'm going to say Evangelion is the best anime of all time.

But GitS is right up there. Definitely an awesome one.

Decent, though at times a lot of it seemed like techno-babble whenever the Puppet Master opened his mouth.

It´s one of those movies that lose a lot in the translation. Already the term "ghost" is misleading, at least for me, but English isn´t my motherlanguage. Read the original (um, translated) manga AND the explanations at the end of the book. The story makes much more sense after that.

Very nice movie, though a bit too much material in too short time. Animation still works, even after many rewatchings.
