"Last" in what way? "Last ever" oder "last until new ones are announced"?

Propably did. "oder" is German and means "or".

I know, I just wondered if you meant to mix languages or if it just happened...

Sorry, slipped that. Fast typing sometimes gets me into writing a German word instead of a similarly-spelled English word. Another example would be "als" instead of "as". I usually spot them once I double-check my finished posts. In this case I didn't. :(

I don't know if Hasbro is going to discontinue the G1 Reissues, but I can say that I was severely disappointed that Hasbro opted to not do Megatron- for whatever reason. It kind of sucked that I had to get one of the Takara re-issues off of ebay (and justly got ripped off), but at least there was an alternative. Besides, from what I have seen of the Reissues, the Takara versions are of better quality, packaging, and overall detail.

Skids and Sideswipe are next.
And Hasbro didn`t just decide not to reissue Megatron, they just CAN`T, period.

Because of toy safety laws in the US, right. It's just ridiculous to assume Hasbro simply "chose" not to reissue a possible "mega-seller"...

Oh, and for the continuation of the Commemorative Series reissues, see here:

EDIT: By the way, what is this thread doing in G1? Reissues are "toys", right?

Whatever their reason was, the fact remains it still stunk. Megatron WOULD have been a huge seller, just like Optimus Prime. All I can say is I would have bought one.

Yes, but it was not Hasbro's to decide. They had no other choice. Of course it would have sold like refrigerators in the Sahara, and Hasbro would have hardly missed that opportunity... but they can't reissue the toy because they are not allowed to. Point.

I guess I'm not making myself really clear here, so my apologies. The point I am trying to make is that, regardless of what reason/who's fault/what law came into effect, it just plain stunk that the american market couldn't get Megatron. It would have been nice and more reasonable to NOT get ripped off by some toy dealer who did a 150% markup on the item vs. going down to my local toysrus and buying it for retail myself. That is my point.

Okay, I get you now. But still, TRU also charges 200% of what the MSRP price is.
The Autobot cars are supposed to be $14.99, IIRC.

Just out of interest, where'd you hear that?

Wouldn't all Hasbro's prices at transformers.com be the RRPs?

Seeing as how TRU is the only store selling the G1 reissues, I fail to see how their price could be double the MSRP.

That's the other thing I was thinking... if there's only one retailer, their price is the RRP... it's like McDonalds Fries. The rrp [over here] is £1.09 for a large. Whether that's extortionate or not is irrelevant, it's still the RRP...

I have heard the "twice the price" figure bandied around, but usually only based on an estimate of what they'd be from 1984 with inflation, or based on rough guesses of how much they cost to make compared with, say, Armada figures.

That's why you need to live in Australia, and buy Takara reissues from "certain contacts" to convince stores that they need to drop prices to sell Hasbro reissues.

That's what most people do everywhere... I can usually find the reissues I want in Takara packaging for less than the TRU ones... You're not Rorschach or someone....
