Spotlight: Jazz Info Thread | UPDATE: preview line-art

Post by zigzagger »

IDW editor Chris Ryall has updated his blog with a cover image featuring Jazz (edit: and what appears to be Razorclaw). What it's for, well, Ryall does not divulge the details, just that E.J. Su penciled it.

Grumble, grumble, grumble....

As other people have noted, the filename might be a clue. Part of the current set of Spotlights? I'd certainly be interested in a "special mission" Jazz solo story...

A Spotlight? Yeah, I figured as much myself. Seems to fit with along with the set of, at the moment, unconfirmed Spotlights. If so, my next question would be if this is the Spotlight that Simon Furman mentioned he was working on at some point in his blog? Time will tell, I guess.

That or the Spotlight that Shane McCarthy recently mentioned he'd just finished scripting over on his blog,

Spotlight Jazz it is then

Post by zigzagger »

Not that there was any doubt, Denton Tipton reveals on the IDW forums that this cover will indeed be for Spotlight: Jazz.

[EDIT]
Ah, the suspense.

I'll go ahead and confirm a few things about this project.

It is indeed Spotlight Jazz.

And E.J. also will be doing the interiors.

As for who's writing it, I'm gonna hold onto that info for a bit longer...

Its worthy to look at Jazz's chest. If you know something about cars (I know way to much to be good about it...)you'll notiche that it is the front of a NEW Porsche. So this story could be part of Universe and maybe we get an Jazz with the alt mode of a new Porsche just like they did with Sunsteaker whose alt mode resemble now a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Jazz has had a new Porsche chest for most, if not all, of IDW's output.

I have no idea who either of those two are.

They're two of the mods at the IDW boards (Richter and Beachcomber, I think), and also involved in Mosaics. Can't recall reading anything they've written, but it's cool to see fan writers given the chance to work on something official since it's usually the artists who get drafted into the professional side of things.

The downside is wear and tear probably means both are noseless as a result.

Yeah, was pretty much what I was thinking after Warcry explained who they were :glance:

Not that I'm opposed to new blood or anything. I think it's wonderful.

They can't be any worse than McTalentless and they're probably a good deal cheaper as well...
