Anybody want to start a sweepstake on the next "...iance" word used in the title?

I'll kick off with "Appliance". This is based on my insider info that The Fallen will transform into a washing machine in the upcoming film.

spoilers just in case, as i mention something about rotf.
SPOILER! (select to read)
Wreckage, or at least a 'clone'. in the prequil comic and reign of starscream (assuming we take them as the same continuity) wreckage arrived with the rest of the deceps and was heavily damaged/blown to smithereens (i'm not sure if the comic specifically indicated he was dead or just left for dead by starscream) by an army unit they first encountered. said army unit were completely wiped out, but blackout was able to retreive some info about qatar, which is where the movie starts.

meantime, at some point in these comics (possibly reign of starscream, i forget) it is mentioned (by starscream from info gathered from frenzy's dead body) that sector seven have either his actual body, or detailed info pertaining to his construction, allowing them to at least try and construct a transformer of their own. the attempt fails in a critical moment in a battle against starscream at hoover dam, at which point starscream takes the opportunity to escape and head for mars (as in the end credits of the movie)

so it seems to me that, as he is standing with sector seven (or whatever they are called now, as i think its changed to 'nest' in rotf), hes likely a clone or something similar. maybe brainwashed/lobotomised or something.

so, er, yes, wreckage. pretty nifty toy, has ninja-like blades on his arms, cool automorph on the chest section, quite poseable. not featured in the movie, so should be fairly cheap to pick up second hand. paint apps not the most detailed, but you can't have everything.
feel free to correct me, as this is all off the top of my head. memory of a goldfish, and all that.

Well, it's nice they're doing something with that subplot that dragged Reign of Starscream down through its pointlessness. Shame it was stopped the previous title being a much tighter four (or even three if you cut all the flashback stuff in issue 1 out) parter.

But Alex Milne, whatever talent he night still have under a rock somewhere has shown time and time again it just doesn’t work with the film characters. I think he could make a decent fist of a Animated comic if they have to employ him but anything with complicated designs just plays to his every weakness. Dan Khanna on the other hand, despite a mediocre showing on Doubledealer did a good job with the film bods on the Titan comic so that at least won’t be a visual car crash.

While I agree about the pointlessness (?) of the overall plot in term of continuity/story progression, I must point out that I really enjoyed Chris Mowry's writing style.
He's a bit verbose (but, hey, he's a beginner), but he also knows how to outline the characters and, given the restrictions forced to him by RotF, he has proved himself a good writer, resourceful and pondered.
That's why I preordered his RotF Prequel stuff and I can't wait to read the first Alliance issue.

Got the Reign of Starscream TPB yesterday. Someone bought it for me unexpectedly. (Go Mom!)

Haven't read it yet...

For the rest of the ROTFL prequel comics, I think I'm going TPB. If I know Alex Milne, his art is only worthy when presented in TPB form where it's... remastered or something, I dunno. I mean, the Megatron Origin crap looked so much better in TPB form (compared to the original issues, at least)

LOL
I have the single issues of RoS, and this time the art is a bit clearer. Maybe IDW did at least learn this one lesson (but just this one, alas).
