I picked these all up 3 days ago at Wal Mart.
Brief review from my mom: "You spent HOW much on toys today???" (I also picked up a few other things, about 3 or 4 non-TF items and one of those Lego wannabe BTR Jetfires. It was suckier than I was afraid it would be. Resist the curious urge these things give you.)
UNICRON: Enough has already been said about this. But I will say that he, for the most part, lives up to his hype, has a VERY decent price(if you're patient enough to pay retail), and both of my brothers-both definitely non-toy people- want one. (Got a second one on layaway for x-mas for my nephew. I've seen around 5 in stores so far and they all seem to disappear within hours. But be patient, you'll find one eventually.)
OVERLOAD: He rocks! Seriously. Decent vehicle mode, more importantly decent robot mode. I was expecting him to be just your average TF but he's really impressive. And he'd fit in easily with every vehicle based line of TFs...Armada, G1, RID. And he has one of the hippest electronic features of any TF ever! And his minicon is, believe it or not, actually useful. The only downside is that he's a definite brick. (That doesn't bother me so much, bc I just usually play with 'em for a few minutes then either stand them on a shelf or stuff them in a box in the closet. But I know there are some brickhaters out there.) His third mode, the missile launcher station thingy that links with prime, is ignorable.
JETFIRE: Don't like him. He looks like he's made by Fisher Price and his sound fx sound like a rejected sound chip from a Star Wars toy. He's not as big in robot mode as you'd expect(I know...that's all perspective) and he seemed a little pricey for what you get. (He was around 5 bucks more than Overload and they seem like they should be the same price.)
