Are Alt/BT heads interchangable?

Post by Clay »

I've never actually tried it, but can the heads from any Alternator be exchanged with another?

I suppose a more precise way to word that is: do the Alternators all use interchangable ball/socket joints for their heads?

I'm pleased enough with Ricochet and Rollbar to buy them, but I think I'd rather like swapping some heads around so that they're not perfect duplicates of previous figures. Same goes for some of the BT color variants.

Nope, ball sockets are different sizes. Only exceptions are toys using the same "base" mold, i.e. Smokescreen/Silverstreak, Lambor/Sunstreaker etc.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

If you're good, you can always reshape. Getting a two-part epoxy coat and then shaving/carving whatever you need, or drilling out if a socket is too small. Though, I don't know what experience you've had in doing so.

Digging an old thread out of its grave here...

Ok, so which car molds have heads that are easily interchangable?

A new job and some disposable cash has piqued my interest yet again...

Unless you're talking about Windcharger/Decepticharge, there's a variant of Decepticharge (the one I happen to have) that doesn't use a ball and socket joint at all, the head is simply fixed to the post and only moves around the horizontal axis, unlike the other variant of Decpeticharge, and Windcharger, who use ball and socket technology.
