Two new PVC's: Paradron Arcee and Spark Attack Prime

I was looking through this month's Toyfare mag, and they had an article on the new PVC's coming up. In addition to Ultra Magnus and Thundercracker, they're also going to have a "Paradron Arcee" (the robot who gave Cyclonus energon) as seen in "Fight Or Flee" and a re-release of the Japanese "Fire Guts" God Ginrai, which will be called "Spark Attack Prime" up here.

Pardon my ignorence but what are PVC's? This one is a new one on me. Please explain them to me and are they worth picking up? I thank you in advance for enlightening me.

PVC's are small figures that are highly detailed. They were huge in Japan and recently came over here.
