I just have to ask - what were you expecting?!?

Anyway - I think a fall 2006 release date seems a bit off to me (perhaps a typo?) - as that's a full year. That means it'll be at the very tail end of the line (like the E Omegas) - and 90% of the consumers won't be able to get it.......

well, since primus doesn't transform into cybertron itself, i thought they'd make him that way.

Well, apparently, in Cybertron - he does. In the G1 comics, he was at the centre of Cybertron (Both he and Uni crashed into asteriods and turned them into their new forms)......

Since those are the only times that Primus has appeared, seems logical to me that he transforms into Cybertron. (I am not counting the gold plated Rodimus...)

Nope, not in any previously-established official work.. this is the first time Primus is Cybertron in robot mode.

Well, in the very first announcement that was made of cybertron, they basically said that

SPOILER! (select to read)
the autobots were trying to collect the planet keys in order to unlock cybertron, so that Primus could transform and shut the black hole that was threatening the universe.

EDIT: The 1337speak just says "Planet not Planet," which is just a jab at the "Trukk n0+ munk3y (truck not monkey)" camp . . .

Hunh? It's been long established that Cybertron was Primus' corporeal body. The fact that Cybertron can physically transform into Primus is only a logical evolution of that concept.
We've even seen concept sketches of this possibility made for the War Within comics (long before Cybertron was on the boards), though they were never used.
Besides, if Unicron can transform into a robot mode, shouldn't Primus/Cybertron be able to as well?

The clear Rodimus Prime giveaway toy was meant to represent Primus' astral body as seen in the Marvel comics, which is an entirely different thing than his physical body.

Nothing exactly new, because ....

In G1 comics, Primus live in a chamber in the deep of the Cybertron, made with the remaining of an asteroid- Unicron (also trapped in an asteroid) create his body from the asteroid itself, using his power ....

In Energon, Primus appear to be a "light" in the deep of Cybertron - "Oops, you finded me" to the young guy

In the Cybertron Spoiler, the key unlock the reawakening of Primus - in wich form? a bunny-type mithological animal?

OOOk, stop the sarcasm, Primus is Cybertron, fire missiles (what an original idea!!) .... when images surfaced, i browsed, an the guy look veery cool

on-topic: ok, so primus transforms is cybertron, i didn't notice that on the leaked images and i don't have the ability to see the show.
