The Seacons I could use, but not at that price (or really those colors). As for Nightbeat, I'll pass, thank you.:p

$120 + shipping and handling for the Seacons? Hmm...that's how much I paid for my MISB God Neptune set a couple months ago, ha.

I don't think I'm really up for that again.

I don't know who to dislike more, the idiots who charge this much for exclusives because they can, or the people who buy them. I figured this would happen when I saw that the company charging even more insane prices for little GI Joes got the Transformers license.

Was going to get the Seacons, but I ran out of space. Besides I really should reduce.

Bloody Hell..I want the Seacons. They were my favorite combiner team as a kid. I was going to look past the garish color scheme and get these, until now. Thats just an insane price, really it is. Like someone else said, God Neptune is obtainable for less than that if you shop around, and the color scheme on that release was far superior in my mind. This fanclub business sure is odd, thats just as bad as scalper prices....

I really do love the God Neptune color scheme. It's funny though, because every one of my family members has told me that it's ugly!

So now, I guess this is an alright spot for me to ask my semi-stupid question I've had on my mind ever since I got God Neptune: did the original Seacons have any die-cast metal? Because I've been thinking how much cooler God Neptune would be with a good heft to it...

The Seacons were all plastic. I'm pretty sure die cast was phased out of the original series during the movie line or so, what with a lot of the 1986 toys being released in both die cast and non-die cast versions

New Club magazine with info. Topspin (2008 free figure, Energon Blackout/Stormcloud repaint) is delayed until late July.

And based on the Club comic, the final combiner team member, the Energon Barricade repaint, might be named "Slaughter".

I have the five members of God Neptune, but it didn't come with the parts to combine them. I'd like to snag those parts and a Nautilator to "complete" the set. Someday maybe.

EDIT: Maybe BBTS will get either of the first two releases in their vintage dept. I don't really do much business on ebay these days.

From what I can see, I like the colors for Skalor, Overbite and Tentakil, but the white on Nautilator and Seawing and the glaring yellow/purple combo on Snaptrap doesn't grab me.

So according to Pete, the Seacons are selling like hotcakes.

Huh.

BBTS has the Seacons for pre-order too, for a higher price

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail

But Nightbeat for slightly less (than the non-member price)!

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail

EDIT: Haha they are both already sold out since yesterday

The Seacons look neat but with a little energon and a lot of luck I could probably find the G1's cheaper!

I had all the G1 Seacons as a kid but had lost the cheastpiece and head... and the left leg wouldn't attach.

I just had to throw "a little energon" in there after I typed this. lol
All that was needed was a catalyst and the machines of war are set in motion.

You might have to get it piecemeal. Just for shits and giggles I decided to look it up on theifbay, and complete Seacon sets are going for between $300-600 loose.

Don't care much for the toy colours but I love the packaging. Saw a couple of Jap pretenders in a toy shop the other day and it reminded me how much I really need a big box in that late 80's TF deco to waste more space in my tiny apartment.

Seriously though, who are they kidding with that price? I payed less than that for my TAKARA Predaking, and that thing is die-cast metal and effing BIG. I can see this thing creeping up over $220 when it shows up in a toy shop over here.

Airazor and Astrotrain sold like hotcakes too.. and the Deathsaurus set was immensely popular too! Really! No offense to Pete, but it's not like he's going to say otherwise about anything the club's doing.

Well, if things are doing well, good for the club, really. But my god, the prices that little chunks of plastic are going for is enourmous. Just seems to me that the money for these toys could go for so many better things...
