When you find a new fav song...

Post by Jim »

How many times do you play it in a row? I just got a new fav, and I have it on loop on winamp right now (Its called "Shine" by Mr. Big aka the end theme to Hellsing - go get it!).

I listen to it over and over and over again, until I kill it and I cant listen to it no more. Then I get more new songs, and the process continues, however if the song is supremely good I will continue to listen to it even after it has become old.

Um, I put it on repeat, and if I get chatting on AIM I sometimes forget I'm listening to it and it blends in as background noise. Last time that happened I was talking to Anglo on AIM all night while listening to Britney Spears - I'm a Slave 4 U, and it must've been on for about 7 hours solidly. But I still love that damn song, even though I recently found out the words weren't "kitty kitty, kitty kitty..ooo" like I thought they were. I was kinda gutted about that.

I sound like I'm on crack tonight. Sorry.

Generally I'll loop a playlist of new stuff, weeding out the dodgier songs until I'm left with a solid core of stuff. If there's just one new cool song, I'll stick it in a playlist of similar material.

Consistent repeat. I had Hit or Miss by New Found Glory playing for at least five hours straight while I chatted on AIM and I never tired of it. Can't say the same for a few other songs, like both the Nickleback singles or the Chad Kroeger song from Spider-Man

I never really play a song on repeat, it just gets a lot more time in the music loop than others. Hmmm....what have I been doing that to lately....

30 Seconds to Mars, "Oblivion"
Prodigy, "Smack My Bitch Up"
Jamiroquai, "Virtual Insanity"
The Roots, "Hot Music"
P.Diddy, "Come With Me"
KCi & JoJo, "Now and Forever"

i try not to put any song on constant repeat because i did that once with a favorite song and i got so tired of it that i threw the entire cd out the window of the car. i usually loop it in with at least 4 or 5 other songs, but i like to listen to it enough to learn all the words.

I have playlists done by category, a favorite song will be played often, but rarely on repeat.

I just throw it in my playlist (only one list for all my songs). If I get tired of a song, it goes out of the list, and of the ol' HD. Strange enough, the songs by Gala have been in there for ages...

I tend to listen to it a few times, then bung it onto a playlist - current thing I haven't heard for years and recently got - "Layla" by Derek & the Dominoes. Best. Guitar. Riff. Ever.
