So I went to my first comic book convention today.....wow, like, cool dude.
the 501st legion was there and was taking donations for a childrens foundation and in return you got to have your photo taken with Jabba, so here is me and Stacy:
Lotsa people dressed up. There was an awesome Bossk there.....you would have literally thought you were on the set of Empire.
Found some decent goodies- a pic of Julian McMahon as Doom:
(They had a signed one, but it was $135 )
I also picked up the walmart exclusive Rise of the SIlver Surfer 3 figure gift pack with a redeco Doom:
and last but not least, I finally found something I have truly been looking for- every Tom Baker/Sarah Jane episode in a collection- guess what I'm doing tonight?
The quality is very good for a bootle...um, import.
There were tons of celebs there too- Adam West and Burt Ward, Eddie Munster, and Ray Park. I didn't bother with autographs, but I did have a nice chat with some porn star whose name I can't remember and an up and coming artist who is doing all the Trek Comic Covers for IDW. He had some beautiful stuff.

That's awesome. Glad you had a good time.
I was hoping I would see you or another MA archiver there, but alas......just a lot of freaky people with really bad body odor.
Acutally, the conversation with the porn star was fun- we were both commenting on how rather strange it was that this certain guy was walking around with a plush dog puppet on his arm and acting all.........Jeffrey Dahmer like. We were equally repulsed. And for the record, I didn't even realize she was a porn star until I happened to look through her portfolio with the gazillion Playboy covers that she had been on. Out of all the stars there, she was the most....."human" [/kirk] to speak with. Just goes to show ya......life is full of weird little oddities. btw, her name was Jennifer LaVoie.
One really cool thing that I noticed was Margot Kidder- let's face it- she's had a pretty rough life since Superman and was the poor schlub of many National Enquirer scandals- not an easy thing to live with I would guess, so I give her kudos for having that inner strength to turn her life around. She was speaking with a 3 year old child of a mother who was a big Kidder fan, and the interaction reminded me of a grandmother to grandchild. It was pure.
Of course I thought of Chromia when I saw the 501st Legion post- I remember her telling me about the previous conventions she had been to. They were some decent, fun loving people. In some odd way, I felt as if Chromia's spirit was there with me.
