One of the few early ones I'm missing, and about the first I've seen for sale with any significant amount of paint left on.

HAPPY CLIFFY!!!!! :)

Hell yeh... That one's due to having a "Transformer in title in any category new listings past 24 hours" search thingummer I check very rarely - good thing, as Hans Cuff is about the only early Gobot who seems to fetch much (though, going by my usual form, a bunch of MOSC ones will turn up over the next week or so, going for about 25p and coming with free strippers, or something).

You'd be surprised (or maybe not, figure of speech) how many good finds I've had simply by browsing in Vintage Toys rather than Action Figures...

I've always fancied having a go with that Triple Changer, TBH, but that one's already out of my "Ooooh, looks weird" price range :( It certainly doesn't look any worse than Broadside or Octane.

'Vintage toys', eh? I'll remember that the next time I go take a looksee i.e. when I've got some money.

I always thought that 'vintage' was a word applicable to my doll's wicker cot circa 1860. Please may I add that I inherited the cot and the base made a great tank until my parents found out...

Yeh, something I can sort of live with - my highest bid was a tenner, sooo....

Also nailed this beauty - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0103444323 - I'm hoping that the rotor from one of the other Gobot Helicopters might work, but not the end of the world if it doesn't. Who knows, thing could be rubbish...

Ah, one of those "Duocons made right" figures? Let me know if/when you've put up a review of it. :)

And now the Gobot thing just goes too far: -

The Combinator thing is pretty awesome... Both units are slightly smaller than a regular Gobot, usual decent details, nice decent materials etc., and Cop-Tur's rotor blade fits nicely on the helicopter. Only real fault is the head is a little thin and flat. That and the RAF never operated Huey Cobras ;) Quite why this guy was skipped for Gobots (especially compared to the chunky, plastic Dread Launchers - http://www.toyarchive.com/Gobots/DreadLaunchers.html) I don't know. Now actively searching for the tank transporter one, but probably going to skip the jet transporter.

Now, naming the bastard. Armourblade just sounds too anime. Any ideas?

EDIT: Oh, and Hans-Cuff also rocks, in that chunky, diecast smiley early Gobot way :) Happy Cliffy :)

Smaller than normal Gobot? Judging by that picture on ebay, I thought it to be much bigger. Good pictures of the toy could also help with the name ideas. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

I have two packages waiting in the post. Propably yours or Numbat's.

The robot's a little taller than a regular Gobot - a lot bulkier, though. I'll try to do some comparison shots later... for now, though: -

Damn, it's almost beautiful. :o

Do you know if that British flag sticker came originally with the toy? I don't remember seeing actual flags on my toys, well hardly ever.

Yeh, I think so... the original had JDSAF markings, which included flags (I've just bought the tank one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0102449850 and you can kinda see them on there), and I think Bandai just assumed British stuff would have union jacks on it... I've seen a few with them on. Might have changed from country to country, though, and I think they came on a seperate sticker sheet anyway.

I'd say he could do with some more cheese on top personally. "ram chop" ? "groundforce charlie" ?

... should I leave this thread quietly ?

Cheese is good - guy's a Gobot ;)

I was thinking, amalgamating suggestings, Tread-Blade (hyphen=GOBOT!) sounds about right... The Japanese one I might assign to the Renegades (y'know, seeing as the Japanese are brilliant, but EVIL, and he'd be on the same side as Zero then), which means we can come up with EVIL CHEESE. Cannon-Haul? That's tacky enough...

EDIT: Also treated myself to a Pumper - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0076139313 - aside from variants, I think I only have about a dozen of the regular Gobots to go - Pathfinder, Small Foot, Bugsie, Klaws, Creepy, Bladez, Tailpipe, Mr. Moto, Stallion and Van Guard...

Clutch & Super Cy-Kill! Awesome... Mainly going for Clutch, the knackered Super Cy-Kill is more of a bonus. Erm, anyone want a Dive-Dive or broken Zeemon...?
