Transformers A to Z

Post by Paul053 »

Since my son is about the age (3) and me and my wife are trying to get him learning the alphabets, we thought of a way to encourage him to study these letters so he won't always use "I'm sleepy" or "I want go potty" sort of excuses to get away. So I made this Transformers A to Z card to hope he will have some interests. Here is the run down list and downloadable file if you are interesting in looking at it.

A - Autobot
B - Bumblebee
C - Cliffjumper
D - Decepticon
E - Energon (don't think we have much other choices)
F - Frenzy
G - Grimlock
H - Huffer (I use PCC Huffer as the picture because that's the one he has)
I - Ironhide (strangely I thought Iacon first)
J - Jazz
K - Kup
L - Lugnut
M - Megatron
N - Nightbeat
O - Optimus Prime
P - Prowl
Q - Quickmix (any other better one?)
R - Ratchet
S - Starscream (a lot of choices here)
T - Thundercracker (his name is a little too long)
U - Unicron
V - Vortex
W - Wheeljack
X - X-Brawn (don't really like this one but I think no other choice)
Y - Yoketron (how about Yello Giraffe?)
Z - Zeta Prime

That's awesome. And Grimlock has cake!
TFU.info also has "Yeerk" and "Yokuryu" for Y, so it looks like Yoketron is the best choice. :) For Q, I'd go with Quickstrike if he/you like Beast Wars. Or Quintesson.
Great work!

Cool idea! You could swap out thundercracker for Tracks if you want to shorten the name a little...

As for X, how about Xaaron? Bit obscure, sure, but you may as well start educating your kids that Marvel UK rules ASAP... ;)

This is awesome!

I wish I had thought of that. Instead I got a copy of "Baby's First Mythos" and taught him his ABCs with Cuthulhu. The result is amusing when we adults start talking Lovecraft and he keeps up rather handily (knowing the names and general info) and fetches his stuffed Mythos monsters we got him when he was about 5. >.>

As for X...no clue. That's probably the best you'll get.

Q - Quintesson's probably a bit more universal that some rubbish toy from 1988.
X - X-Brawn's probably the best, for no other reason than it being a phonetic X. Xaaron's name is only spelt with an X so it looks less silly that Zaaron - there was a lot that about in the eighties.
Y - best I can come up with is Yukikaze. It's either that or Yakov from RotF.

I hate to correct you (that's sooonot true), but that's actually a rubbish toy from 2006 based on a rubbish toy from 1988. And the excessive formatting proves I'm right.

About Quintesson, it was my first choice but dropped it because my son doesn't like them. Quickmix is rubbish but I almost bought the Cybertron one (2006) few weeks ago when seeing him at $7.99 on eBay.

@Cliffy's Yukikaze, you know, my initial thought of Y is Yamato.

Tracks, yes! Tracks. How come I forgot about him.

"It worked. It worked so well!!!"

That was my wife's first sentence yesterday when I went back home. She said it was the first time our son could go through from A to Z three times. That reminded me one of our friends said she made her son a dinosaur A to Z card and her son later could pick all them up in few weeks.

Wasn't there a character called Xavros? Could that go under X?

Personally, I'd use Quake for Q. He was one of my first TF's and a cool toy from 1988. Though admittedly I was also fond of G1 Quickmix.

Other options for E would be Eject, Electro or Excavator, though the last one may be too long.

Speaking of Quake, his Nebulan partner Tiptop might be another option.

Since you're suggesting Xarron, what about the other Emirate, Xian?

Thanks. These cards are now taped on the wall and I would say it worked pretty well on my son. Yeah, I though about updating the list someday.

The only thing now is he wants me to buy the toys on the card that we don't have............... ("No, I don't want to buy X-Brawn and no, there is no such a toy for Zeta Prime")

Really? You're going to teach a kid the word "Erector" and just pray he doesn't repeat it around an older kid that can turn it against him? Come on.

For the letter "E" I'd suggest Elita One. For "Q" you could stick with Quickmix, or use Quake if you want to stick with actual names of specific Transformer.
