I had an extra Meister sitting around, so I decided to use it for a Bumblebee. I read some of the tutorials in the Bromen forum, and it was actually pretty easy -
Will primer and paint it tomorrow.
I am pleased so far.

Looks interesting. I'm sure it'll look great once painted.

Change of plans... Bee's going to have a Subaru body, and will have some Minibot friends...

Got tired of looking at my sculpted BB head, so I went looking at his other head styles (original minibot head, Goldbug, movie, etc.). The
G2 Gobot version seemed to be the easiest to pull from an existing Alternator head, so I set to work..

I'm happier with him now, even if it is a less iconic look.
Also,
I CAN FINALLY TAKE THIS PICTURE

That's actually pretty cool.
As an option, I might take it that EXTRA step and go a tad hybrid--adding horns on the sides. Don't make them too big, just enough to identify him.
Although, it looks great as is. The red faceplate is especially nice.

Despite not being a Bumblebee fan, I actually really, really like that.

He's a mish-mash of different versions already, so little horns wouldn't hurt
Does the faceplate really look red? It's actually a purple paint. I'm planning on using it for a couple of complete cars, so if it is showing up as red with my crappy camera, that could be a problem

You know, it's more of a maroon color. Red was being vague, although I wouldn't call it purple.
However, if maroon works for the color you want all the same, then maybe you don't have any problems...

No horns yet, but I added a door mod to throw a Classics reference in. The mish-mashing continues!

Pretty cool. I figure you have to reattach the doors each time, but the effect is still pretty nice. Also helps to make that particular mold look a little more different than the usual run.

Yeah, you drill little holes in the doors so that they can mount on the forearm pegs. I think I drilled them in the wrong spot, though - vertical middle of the door doesn't look good since the pegs are off center.
I'm not done with him yet though, so I'll tinker with the doors again later.

I really like this take on BB. You did an excellent job all of the way around, especially with the conceptual choices. Great work!

Your work is fantastic and your paints are so smooth man, just want to praise you.
The door mod is an exellent move.
I hope you put horns on the head tho, I feel it would make it more Bumblebee, which is up to your own artistic license of course.

I liked how Cliffy's head turned out, so I made a new one for Bumblebee last weekend. This is head #3.
I also moved the doors back to the shoulders.
Have included a group shot of the three Minibots that I started over a year ago. As you can see, plans change!

Great bash, i like how the doors are on his shoulders now. I still think:
BB=Mazda Rx-8
CJ=Subaru WRX
But that's just my two cents...
