This isn't news. I've moved this to the correct forum.

The answer is because of the movie and the toyline's shift of focus onto the characters in seasons 3 and 4.

Plus Cliffjumper couldn't appear in a speaking role anyway, as by that time his voice actor, Kasey Casem, had quit over his displeasure at the portrayal of arabs (particularly the state of Carbombya) in the series.

Basically the toys of those characters were no longer selling or were discontiued and the show decided to focus on the new characters and their toys.

Jazz didn't speak after him and Cliffjumper were captured by Unicron because Scatman Crothers (the voice of Jazz) died.

And if I recall corectlly there's also some storyborads from TF:TM
that were never animated showing Tracks, Red Alert, and a few others getting killed by the Decepticons during the attack on Autobot City.

Didn't the Japanese version of TF:TM have a few different scenes from the US version?

So the US and Japanese movies were the same exact movies?

Yes. And the Japanese trailer is the exact same as the American trailer.

The Japanese version of the movie is the same cut as the US home video version of the movie withthe "Star Wars" opening. The credits are in english as well. The only difference between the US and Japanese versions of the film, aside from the dub, is that whenever a major character appears in the Japanese version their name appears below them. It's a tradition they've had in all the Transformer shows in Japan. Whenever a new character appears their name and function appears beneath them.

The Japanese dub is actually quite good, as I like the Japanese cast. They made a consciouse effort to immitate the American voices. So well, in fact, that sometimes it sounds like the American actors are speaking Japanese. The Japanese Beast Wars dub is a different subject, though. Some of the worst voices I've heard in my life
